1. IRS approved/ Mercantile Marine Deptt. Under DG Shipping
2. High Visibility Orange colour fabric cover.
3. Adjustable Buckle for tightening and specially designed with Velcro fitment for
easy/quick donning in an emergency
4. Special construction of the Jacket allows the wearer quick turning in case of being
knocked unconscious in water.
5. Chemically resistant to sea water and petroleum products.
6. Retro- reflective Tape Solas Approved

201(81) and MSC 207 (81).

LIFE BUOYS

It should be useful in Deep Sea, in case of Flood, Safety measures for sea vessels &
sea Mishap. It should be totally moisture proof and non-inflammable.

It should be manufactured from durable High visibility orange synthetic material,


which requires no maintenance. The Retro reflective Tape used should be SOLAS
approved, which helps to identity victims in distress. Its inner diameter should be
at least 40 Cms , and outer diameter should be at least 80 cms. Having width: at
least 10 cms . Floatability: more than 14.5 Kgs.

Testing:
It should be prototype tested for following tests as per SOLAS specification (Clauses)

Temperature Cycling test (Cl. 1.2),


Drop test (Cl.1.3)
Oil resistance test (Cl.1.4)
Fire test (Cl.1.5)

Flotation Test It should be remain floating for a period of 24 hours (Cl. 1.6)

Weight test: 50 Kg.

NOTE: - The Life Jacket & Life Buoys shall be IRS approved at the time of registration
and inspection.
