Grounding ZXMSG 5200 requires three types of relative independent

Cable Types grounding cables for the DC power distribution system, which
are as follows:
Working ground
Protection ground
Lightning protection ground
Grounding Steel bars of the building are used as replacement if these three
Requirements kinds of grounds cannot be offered. The resistance to the ground
must be less than 1 when combining the three grounds
together. The grounding cables from the grounding pole to the
equipment should have good conductance and be built with
copper cores. Their cross section must not be less than 50 mm2;
the length should be as short as possible.
Bad grounding may lead to inexplicable faults or even damage
the equipment. Therefore, confirm that the equipment has been
well grounded before installation and configuration of system
operating.
Grounding Grounding resistance of the cable is required to be less than 5 .
Resistance For the lightning protection ground, use stranded copper
conductor with a section area more than 95 mm to connect it to
the ground grid. Table 11 lists grounding resistance for the
grounding devices of different communication offices (stations).

Cabling Principles
Principles The following are the basic principles before using and installing
cables.
Confirm cable specifications, quantity, and models according
to construction design and contract.
Check cables for physical damage.
Check quality certificates, such as ex-factory record and
quality warranty.
Route and position cables according to constructional design.

Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION 67

ZXMSG 5200 (V2.0.2) Multiplex Service Gateway Hardware Installation Manual (19D06H20)

Cable length should be specific to the position requirement.

Avoid using connectors to recover damaged cables.
Neatly arrange the cables.
Bend cables smoothly and evenly. Curvature radius of cable
bends should be at least 60 mm for cables whose outer
diameter is less than 12 mm. For cables having diameter
more than 12 mm, the radius of curvature should be 10
times.
Lay subscriber cables separately from power cables.
Keep cables straight within channels. Ensure that cables are
not blocking or interrupting other cable inlets or outlets.
If fiber, power and grounding cables are laid in same channel,
ensure cables do not overlap each other. Roll up extra cables
neatly and fix it to the middle of cabling rack.
Carefully handle the tail fibers. Use protective plastic
bushings and tail fibers should be bundled around the top or
bottom of the cabinet.

Cabling Bundling
Cable Bundling Bundle cables in sequence near plugs. Avoid bending the cables.
Technique Figure 63 shows cables bundling technique. To keep cables
straight and vertical to the ground, use binding ties in an equal
distance.

Chapter 7 Maintenance

AC Power Down
Introduction The AC power down is a common fault during running of power
system. If the power down period is short, use the battery to
supply DC power. If the power down period lasts for long time or
power down reason is unclear, use a generator to provide power.
ZXDU45 The AC power of ZXDU45 system does not supports two way
System main power input supply. In case of using generator, it is
required to take changeover between main supply and generator
before providing external AC input.

AC Over/Under Voltage
AC Over When the AC voltage upper limit is set to 280 V, then the
Voltage monitoring unit will give an alarm once the AC voltage exceeds
Introduction 280 V. When AC voltage exceeds 300 V, the rectifier
automatically turns OFF. At this time, there is no DC power
output. When the system power supply works normally, switch
ON the rectifier manually.
AC Under When the AC voltage lower limit is set to 160 V, then the
voltage monitoring unit will give an alarm once the AC voltage lowers
Introduction the limit. When AC voltage decreases the limit (160 V), the
rectifier automatically turns OFF. At this time, there is no DC
power output. When the system power supply works normally,
switch ON the rectifier manually.
