AUDITION REQUIREMENTS FOR WIND, BRASS & PERCUSSION

All candidates for wind and brass auditions must prepare:

1) The set work (first movement only)
2) One own choice piece
3) The prescribed orchestral excerpts

An accompanist is provided (you must bring the piano parts with you to the audition).

TIMPANI AND PERCUSSION

Candidates must play two own choice pieces demonstrating facility on keyboard percussion
(marimba or vibraphone) and either multi-percussion, snare drum or timpani.
Requests for instruments for multi-percussion set-ups must be emailed to
michal.rogalski@gsmd.ac.uk when you are offered an audition time, and no later than two
weeks before the audition date.

ORCHESTRAL EXCERPTS
These can mostly be found in Orchester Probespiel (Edition Peters), but any commonly-used excerpt
book or standard edition of the orchestral part is acceptable.
