The project will be impleted at a cost of Rs. 15,000 million, including Rs.
3,450 million towards land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation of
12,000 families to be evicted along the Cooum river. The toll highway,
which is aimed at providing better connectivity for heavy vehicles to the
Chennai Port, will reduce traffic congestion on Poonamallee High Road.
The elevated highway will go along the Cooum river till Koyambedu and
from there go on the middle of Poonamallee High Road upto
Maduravoyal. Starting from War Memorial gate of the Chennai Port Trust,
it will first cross the elevated MRTS railway line between Chintadripet and
Park Town Stations and then cross College Road, Nungambakkam,
Chetpet, Choolaimedu railway bridge, Arumbakkam to reach Koyambedu.
It will have entry ramps at Sivananda Salai and College Road and exit
ramps at Kamarajar Salai and Spur Tank Road. The Koyambedu junction
will have both entry and exit ramps. Toll plazas will be set up at Spur
Tank Road and Maduravoyal.

Mr. S. Sengupta is Deputy CEO of SL-Infra. He did his B. E. (Civil) and was Gold
Medalist form Calcutta University, 1969, and M.Tech (Structures) from IIT, Kanpur.
He has over 39 years of rich experience in investigation, planning, design and
construction supervision of large number of Bridges, flyovers, ROB, RUB, Railway
bridges and elevated viaducts. He underwent bridge construction engineering
training in Switzerland, Singapore and Germany. He also got on-the-job training in
Canada & USA in the field of computerised traffic automation system. He was
instrumental in adoption of state-of-the-art innovative designs for a number of
bridge/ flyover projects in India as per latest international technologies. He was
earlier involved in complex launching system design of elevated viaducts of MRT
Singapore. He has been responsible for large number of bridge projects from
design to completion and guided teams of engineers in India, Bangladesh and Mr. S. Sengupta
Sultanate of Oman. Some of the bridges designed and monitored by him got 1st
prize by IIBE. His recent award winning Precast Segmental projects are the 9.5 km
long Elevated Expressway on Hosur Road in Bangalore and and 11.6 km long PVN
Rao Elevated Expressway in Hyderabad city.
Mr. S.L. Yadav is a graduate Civil Engineer has over 46 years of relevant
experience in the execution of bridge construction works, preparation of feasibility
reports. He successfully carried out Design and Construction Supervision of
prestigious bridges in India. Organized deployment of men, material and machinery
for successful completion of projects within stipulated time. He has been

checking and construction supervision of various types of bridges and detailed
design of well/pile foundation for some of the important bridges. He is associated

Brahmaputra at Tezpur, 800m long Teesta Barrage with 32 spillways in North
Bengal and 277m long Rihand Prestressed bridge in Uttar Pradesh and 480m long

has 37 years professional experience in bridge/structural engineering. His

Mr. M.V.B. Rao did his B.Tech (Civil) and M.Tech. (structural engineering) degrees

experience including in design and construction supervision of RCC Cantilever
