(On June 2, 2017, we received a copy ofa letter from Assistant District Attorney Tammy Retis(to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation) advising that your case was closed without prosecution due to the Inability to show the offenses occurred beyond a reasonable doubt. Athough your case was closed without prosecution, asa Firefighter for the Cly of Murfreesboro, your actions were in violation of the following city Employee Handbook Policies: ‘+ Section 3002 (0 (22) which cites, “behavior that reflects discredit upon the department, the employee, or the ety” "+ Section 2003 (a) (6) which ctatee, “An employee must avoid any action which might rel in look as though the employee is: lowering the publ’ trust inthe city's government.” ‘Asa result ofthese violations, you are being suspended fortwo (2) 24-hour shifts suspension without pay. ‘Adaitionally, you are being placed on disciplinary probation for 24 months wth inlighilty for promotion during that period. You wilremain assigned to Fre Station Sand ill no longer bea member ofthe Special Operations team until further notice Inaccordance Employee Handbook Section 3002 (2 i), “Should the employee believe that thedscipine Imposed by the department or section head or designee was Incorrect, the employee may request ‘maaifcation of the dscpine bythe City Manager by fling a written request for review with the Chy Recorder within two (2) weekdays ofthe decison.
