1. TITLE

GIS AC VOLTAGE WITHSTAND TEST

2. SCOPE

GIS AC VOLTAGE WITHSTAND TES

3. OBJECTIVE

This is to assure that the requirements of electrical individual test works are meets the codes

requirements and contract specifications. To make sure, the works are carried out in

acceptable workmanship and follow the requirements in the quality manual.

4. REFERENCE

4.1 Reference Manual

4.2 Applicable Manufacturers Manuals/Standards

4.3 Contract Specifications and Construction Drawing

4.4 Standard for hand-over test of electric equipmentinstallation engineering ( GB Standard

50150-2006 ).

4.5 Testing of withstand voltage at GIS can be performed using the AC voltage test system

with variable frequency once installed on-site. The test system operates in a frequency

range from 20 Hz to 300 Hz and complies with the requirements according to IEC 60517

and IEC 62271-203.

5. RISK AND SAFETY PRECAUTION

5.1 Everyone must wear safety helmet when come into construction site and tie safety belt

when work at height.

5.2 High voltage testing area should be circled by rail with warning board and make special

person to watch.

5.3 If happen anything abnormal, the testing must be stopped, and strengthen test warding.

5.4 Clean all tools and instruments, prevent something to leave on instrument after test; if

some wires are changed, it need be restored after test.

6. TEST ITEM

6.1 Visual Inspection

6.2 Insulation resistance test

6.3 AC Voltage withstand test

7. TEST PROCEDURE

7.1 Conditioning before testing

7.1.1 All compartement are filled with SF6 gas at rated pressure

7.1.2 All aparatus of the circuit being tested are closed position

7.1.3 All earting switches of the circuit being tested are opened position

7.1.4 All adjacent portions are insulated and gounded

7.1.5 If VTS are designed for gis test voltage one side of the secondary winding has

tobe conected to earth and wiring to local cubicle has to be disconected.

7.1.6 If VTS not designed for gis test voltage are removed or insulated by opening of

a disconector.

7.1.7 The secondary winding of all current transformer must be shorted and grounded

7.1.8 Surge arrester / lightning arrester are disconected from GIS

7.1.9 Power transformers are isolated from the GIS substation and conected to

ground

7.1.10 All work on the substation are interrupted and staff is warned that test be carried

out

7.2 AC voltage withstand test

7.2.1 Precaution

SF6 presure all compartment should be at nominal pressure and SF6 should

be in good condition.
