PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Youth exchange within On the Road to Tolerance Variety of Identities in DiversifiAction project was held in Zakopane in the date of 21-28.02.2017. It
was participated by young people coming from four European countries: Poland, Romania, Italy and Spain. Each nation was represented by 8 people,
including 1 team leader all together there were 32 people. The theme of the exchange was developing cultural awareness due to common actions.
During the exchange participants got to know the traditions, national cystoms and everyday habits of peers from other countries. The main aims of the
projects were:
- developing intercultural dialogue,
- developing cooperation and understanding between youth coming from different cultural environments
- promoting the attitudes of tolerance and acceptation.
Furthermore, due to the realization of the project we strengthened the network of contacts and mutual cooperation between our organizations, which
we aim to continue. To achieve our aims we used methods of nonformal education, such as: interactive workshops and presentations, integration games
and team-building activities, energizers, discussions, outdoor activities and cultural evenings. Activities and common work were based on comfortable
views exchange. During the exchange we also conducted the social poll among the inhabitants of Zakopane and tourists concerning tolerance by asking
them questions connected with multiculturalism. We managed to establish discussion with local society, create friendly atmosphere among participants
and ensure long-lasting impact on youth. Due to common work participants got to know history, culture and language of their peers countries,
diminished a range of stereotypes and prejudices, developed the sense of tolerance towards others, enhanced European identity and awareness and the
sense of belonging; both national and European. Participation in the project helped participants to overcome social and cultural barriers and perceive
their surrounding and other nations openly.
