leading to local lock contention and high CPU utilization.
IMPACT:
Local lock contention and high CPU utilization in the TCP/IP address
space.
CIRCUMVENTION:
None.

N23311 ATTEMPT TO GENERATE AN INVALID VARIABLE NAME ...

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a NetMaster or SOLVE region uses an INIFILE procedure to control
region initialization, it creates an NCL variable for every System
Symbol when the INIFILE NCL procedure is invoked. If a System Symbol is
longer than 12 bytes or contains underscore it will not form a valid NCL
variable name, causing calls to the INIFILE procedure to fail.
SYMPTOMS:
The following messages appear in the region log, repeated for each
Customizer Parameter group:
N23311 ATTEMPT TO GENERATE AN INVALID VARIABLE NAME USING &LONGSYMBOLIC
SOURCE VARIABLE.

FOLLOWS:
IMPACT:
The parameter group is customized using the values set in the VFS file.
This may cause initialization to fail, e.g. if a non-existent file name
is used for a VSAM file in MODSFILES or PANELLIBS Parameter Groups.
CIRCUMVENTION:
Restrict System Symbols names to 12 bytes in length without underscore.

USER SYMBOL ENHANCEMENTS

ENHANCEMENT DESCRIPTION:
The MVS system symbols interface ($CAPKBIF PLEXSUB) in the NetMaster
suite of products is updated to support user symbol enhancements when
executing on z/OS V2R2 and later.
The supported enhancements are:
1. User symbol names containing an underscore (_) in any character
position except the first one; and
2. User symbol values up to 44 characters in length when the last
character position of the symbol name is an underscore (_).

SSI HIGH CPU WITH SMF RECORD FLOOD

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The NetMaster SSI region routes TCP/IP data from SMF exits to a NetMaster
region. Should a flood of SMF records occur, the SSI data queues increase
in size, causing an exponential increase in CPU usage.
SYMPTOMS:
High CPU usage by the NetMaster SSI.
IMPACT:
The NetMaster SSI adds to the zIIP CPU load on a system that is already under
stress. Recycling the region corrects the problem, but data being routed
at the time is lost.
CIRCUMVENTION:
None.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
With the product configured to use SEC=PARTSAF we issue RACROUTE
with TERMID value set to incorrect format. When a user with ACF2
