Festival Manager Job Description

Three-month contract - Full-Time

Start Date: August 1, 2017

SILINGAN SENI (ARTISTIC NEIGHBOUR): A CROSS BORDER ART INITIATIVE OF MINDANAOAN

AND SABAHAN VISUAL ARTISTS - October 23 - 26, 2017, Zamboanga City
Honorarium: PHP8,000 per month (excluding 15% withholding tax)

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:

Silingan Seni Project: A Cross Border Art Initiative of Mindanaoan and Sabahan Visual Artists is a
subregional artistic exchange event that will feature two visual arts exhibitions, art conversations, and art-
on-site-interaction activities both in the Philippines (Zamboanga City) and Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu and
Ranau). Silingan is a Visayan word for neighbour, while seni is a Malay word for artistic. These two
words, in gist, best describe the project to be implemented in the subregions bordered by the Sulu zone.

This will be first for seasoned artists in Mindanao to exhibit together, engage and share experiences, and
create together art-on-site-interactions with Sabahan artists in Zamboanga City and Kota Kinabalu.

ROLE:
Ateneo Center for Culture and the Arts is looking for an experienced project manager to work with the
projects team on the delivery of the Silingan Seni Project. The role will involve managing a small team,
while working closely with external members of the project team to co-ordinate the successful
development and delivery of the arts festival.

Key tasks include:

Working closely with the Festival team to co-ordinate and deliver projects and events to deadline and
on budget.
Project co-ordination and scheduling.
Managing budgets and producing reports.
Effective updating and communication with the project team.
Working on site to oversee the successful delivery of the project and events.

Key skills must include:

1 Year minimum relevant experience in events management (experience in organizing arts festivals is a
plus but not a requirement)
A keen organizational sense with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to think clearly and solve problems effectively under pressure.
Great interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team while being able to manage and prioritize your own workload.
