about 3.8dBi and the cross polarization is less than 12dB. It
can be noticed that the maximum radiation for the proposed
MIMO antenna does not happen exactly at the boresight
direction, which is due to the asymmetrical structure of the
half-mode antenna elements. The simulated radiation
efficiency versus frequency is illustrated in Fig.5. It can be
seen that the efficiency is higher than 88% across the whole
operating band.

IV. Conclusion
A compact MIMO antenna is designed to operate at
mmWave band. The HMSIW slot antenna is utilized as the
antenna element to obtain broad operating bandwidth. Due to
the inherent properties of SIW structure to suppress the surface
wave and the confine the field inside the cavity, low mutual
coupling of less than -22dB is also achieved. The proposed
MIMO antenna can be a good candidate for future 5G wireless
communication systems.
