Overview of Ahlia Chemicals Company

Ahlia Chemicals Company K.S.C.C. (ACC or the Company) was established in 1981 as a Kuwaiti shareholding
company. The Companys current paid up capital is USD 10 million and it is a 100% owned subsidiary of Al-Ahlia
Holding Company K.S.C.C.

The Company is one of the leading manufacturers of construction specialties chemicals in the state of Kuwait and is
engaged in the manufacturing and sale of Concrete Additives, Range of Bitumen Protective Coatings, Cementitious
Products, Industrial Flooring (Epoxy and Cementitious based Systems), Bituminous Waterproofing Membranes,
Foaming Agents, Mortar Additives, Polysulfide Sealants, Hydrophobic PU Injection and all types of Grouting
Materials asphalt emulsions and other chemicals used as insulation against water and humidity. The Company also
trades in similar items.

With the track record of over 30 years, Ahlia Chemicals, an ISO 9001:2008 certified company, is the pioneer in its
field and has successfully achieved its objectives by gaining respect and confidence in both quality and services,
from clients in Kuwait as well as other neighboring countries.

Today Ahlia Chemicals covers more than 60% of the local market share in the construction specialty field with a
vast perspective for growth and expansion.

The Company is the only manufacturer of bitumen waterproofing membrane and bitumen emulsions in the State of
Kuwait. Products are manufactured in accordance with international standards and it meets ASTM, BS & DIN
standards as relevant. Ahlia Chemicals had the privilege of being the first manufacturer of its kind in Kuwait to
receive the ISO 9001:2008 quality certification.

Ahlia Chemicals outstanding track record has definitely strengthened its relationship with regional and international
firms which it represents and collaborates with.

Manufacturing Activities Trading Activities

The manufacturing unit in Subhan Industrial area is to produce and cater a wide range of
construction specialty materials for the most demanding applications in construction.

Ahlia Chemicals is the only manufacturer of bitumen waterproofing membrane, bitumen emulsions,
and polyurethane chemicals in the State of Kuwait. Products are manufactured in accordance with
international standards and it meets ASTM, BS & DIN standards as relevant.

It has the privilege of being the first manufacturer of its kind in Kuwait, to receive the ISO: 9001
certification.

Being a local manufacturer, Ahlia chemicals is well supported by the government bodies, and
enjoys a credible reputation among the customers regarding availability, quality and service.

ISO Certification and QMS Upgrade

Right from the inception Ahlia Chemicals focused on gaining reputation for quality and reliability
among the leading construction companies and other industries to whom the products / services
are provided.

Being the leading manufacturer of construction specialties, maintaining an excellent reputation is a

critical success factor for the company. In this regard, Ahlia Chemicals is under the process of
upgrading its existing ISO 9001:2008 Certification to the new standard 2008 version in order to
ensure high customer satisfaction.

Striving for QMS upgrade and recertification of ISO 9001:2008 and ensuring effective
implementation of QMS will clearly demonstrate the Companys commitment to meeting customer
requirements and providing high service levels.

As a result of above initiative, Ahlia Chemicals will be qualified to bid for most of the government
projects including those from Public Authority for Housing Welfare, Ministry of Public Works, etc.
where it is mandatory to possess an ISO certification which in turn is expected to result in
increased sales for the Company.

Moreover, the revised policies and procedures according to industry standards are expected to
provide more control over collection and levels of inventory thus helping the organization reduce
working capital requirements.

Revision of Formulation and Improved R&D

One of the main foundation structures in Ahlia Chemicals is the in house R & D laboratory. The
laboratory is equipped with state of the art facilities to ensure the quality of both raw material and
final products in accordance with the international standards. Moreover, it plays a crucial role
developing new products by understanding the needs of construction industry as well as Ahlias
constant pursuit of excellence and global knowledge.

New product design and development is a crucial factor in the survival of a company. In an industry
that is changing fast, firms must continually revise their design and range of products. This is
necessary due to continuous technology change and development as well as other competitors and
the changing preference of customers.

Within Kuwait, the construction dynamics have significantly changed during the last ten (10) years
in terms of basic infrastructure, road systems, port facilities, housing and commercial structures
and in this scenario, compounders and formulators have a critical role to play, particularly with
rising or uncertain energy prices and volatile pricing for petroleum-based raw materials.

Considering the above facts, Ahlia Chemicals intends to have a long-term contract with a renowned
R&D consultants across the region, who would offer the company with necessary R&D for existing
products and develop new products as per regions construction market requirements which would
result in increased sales and improved gross margins.
