Irish Water, the national water utility, has responsibility for the delivery of water and wastewater
services to homes and businesses. Irish Water is a subsidiary of Ervia, Irelands first multi-utility
company responsible for strategic national water and gas infrastructure and services.

across our three regions.

Management System (IMS) Manager.

The Role:

The Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) function within Irish Water is responsible for
ensuring and supporting compliance with company, national and European - level health, safety
quality and environmental standards. The HSQE team provides governance and specialist advice
across the business three regions in these areas, and manages the maintenance and assurance of
the Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure appropriate HSQE compliance with regulatory
requirements.

Reporting to the HSQE Manager, the IMS Manager will be responsible for managing the IMS as a
single system to ensure all areas of HSQE are integrated and work in a seamless manner (Health,
Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy aspects). The IMS Manager will also be responsible for
driving an integrated and common approach to HSQE systems including; planning and following
policy, procedures, processes and methodology, as well as training and operational control.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Develop, drive and review the IMS strategy for Irish Water
Communicate and engage with key stakeholders in developing the IMS Strategy across Irish
Water ensuring that it aligns with HSQE and the wider business functions.
Drive and support development and maintenance of the IMS system as per legislative
requirements and align to the wider asset management integrated approach.
Report on IMS compliance and trends to the HSQE Manager and other areas of the organisation
Ensure that IMS risks are identified and control measures are in place
Act as the management representative for IMS and liaise with external certification bodies
Ensure that Incident Management is planned, conducted, documented and tested
Managing the delivery of the annual audit and inspections programme to verify compliance with
policies and procedures
Ensuring the implementation of the Information Governance Strategy and Chairing the
Information Governance Board
Coordinating the activities of the Knowledge Management Specialist
Managing and driving the governance of IMS throughout the organization
Provide IMS support to the EHS Manger and Risk manager
Ensure HSQE requirements are incorporated within tendering processes, and ensuring that
qualitative assessments of submissions are conducted
Work with the wider Irish Water business to ensure that Energy Management and opportunities
for improvement are reviewed and implemented
Ensuring that HSQE requirements are considered in training and Occupational Health.
Participate in ongoing HSQE projects as required
Raise risks and issues to the HSQE Manager as appropriate
Other duties as required from time to time

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

3rd level qualification in Engineering, Science


7+ years experience in asset management or similar and with integrated management system
experience
Experience working in Utilities sector is essential
Min 6 years experience managing people/teams
Experience of working across a multi-site, service orientated business
Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment and delivering
desired results
Ability to interpret legislative information
Excellent Interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of stakeholders
A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of
technical / professional decisions on the performance of the organisation
Previous experience with initiating and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and
externally, using strong influencing skills to achieve business goals
Very strong written and verbal communication skills
