CIMA CERTIFICATE LEVEL

NEW 2017 SYLLABUS

If you dont already know, 2017 brings changes to the CIMA Certificate Level syllabus. As your tuition provider
we know that hearing the words change and syllabus updates can cause stress and a lot of confusion but
the good news is we here to simplify it for you...heres the break down of how things will work for 2017.

Firstly, Why?

Qualifications are updated on a regular basis to ensure they remain relevant to industry and the world we
live in. The changes taking place helps align the Certificate Level with the remaining part of the Professional
Qualification.

What are the changes?

In the previous syllabus there were 5 courses, now there are 4.

C03 - Fundamentals of Business Maths has been removed from the new syllabus, however the key topics will
be redistributed across the other courses.

Course codes have changes:

Old Syllabus New Syllabus

C01 - Fundamentals of Management BA2 - Fundamentals of Management

Accounting Accounting
C02 - Fundamentals of Financial BA3 - Fundamentals of Fiancial

C03 - Fundamentals of Business Maths - No match as it has been discontinued
C04 - Fundamentals of Business Economics BA1 - Fundamentals of Business Economics
C05 - Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate BA4 - Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate

Phase out phase:

You will have until the 10th January 2017 to sit your exams, should you have the 2011 syllabus material (if
you received material in 2016 or earlier you will need to sit your exams by the 10th Jan 2017).

Examinations for the new syllabus will commence on the 11th January 2017.

If you havent enrolled yet or if you havent received your material for your courses yet, dont stress, you will
receive the most up to date material.

Some students will have passed examinations before January 2017; they will be given credits for the subjects
within the updated syllabus. So if you have already successfully completed the above courses you will not
need to resit the course under the new syllabus. :)
