Project Concept

The purpose of the project concept is to create a compelling case for a project, some-
thing that your target sponsors will find easy to support. It is the starting point for making
a formal business case and is used to attract sponsors who will champion your project
with upper management. It should be short (maximum three pages) and to the point, and
should highlight the key information about the project. The format is flexible and the
content should resemble a white paper. Include the following:

Project title or headline

Short project description and linkage to current business plan and objectives

Anticipated benefits (broad ROI and other tangible stakeholder benefits)

Best guess as to budget and timeline needs

Supporting data in terms of research done, vendors/products identified, known

issues and a statement about grass roots support
