Computer Applications in Business 3 & 4 class

Business Technology education is a vocational class that teaches essential skills for high
school, college and beyond. In this class you will learn by doing hands-on projects. You will
learn skills such as coding, wed design, 3D Printing and other programs as time permits.

SUPPLIES- Students are expected to bring supplies every day. *Lack of supplies may affect grade.

1. Composition Book
2. Pen or pencil
3. Earbuds or headphones
4. Flash Drive is recommended to keep a copy of class projects.

CLASS FEE- There will be a $10 class supplies fee that will be collected. This is used to cover the supplies we use in
class for projects. A letter and deadline for paying the fee will be sent home at a later date. Please do not send in
any money at this time.

FIELD TRIPS: Field trips are a privilege. Students must have good behavior, good attendance and good grades in all
classes to attend.

CLASS RULES/CONDUCT GRADE


The following actions will reduce your conduct grade.
BE ON TIME- You are expected to be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings
BE RESPECTFUL- Respect others and the classroom. Raise your hand to get permission to speak or move from
your seat.
BE ON TASK- No Internet browsing or game playing. Do not download or install anything on the computer and
do not change the settings. All students refusing to appropriately use computers for educational purposes will be
removed and prevented from further usage of the lab computers.
BE CLEAN-No eating, drinking or chewing gum in the classroom. Please pick up the area around your desk and
computer.
BE COURTEOUS-Please stay in your seat until the bell rings and the teacher dismisses the class.
Any student in violation of the acceptable use policy will be held responsible for their behavior and dealt with
accordingly by the administration and classroom instructor.

Failure to follow the classroom rules will result in the following and affect your conduct grade:
1st offense- Warning
2nd offense- Call home to parents
3rd offense- Detention
4th offense- Parent/Teacher conference
More than 4th offense- Referral to Administration

ATTENDANCE

It is the responsibility of the student to make up (within three days) work missed while absent, unless another
arrangement has been made with the teacher. It is the students responsibility to ask the teacher for the missed
assignments and instructions.
Excessive absences will affect the academic grade of the student because much of the grade is determined by
daily activities done in class on the computer and may be difficult to make up.

GRADING- Academic grades are assigned according the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Grading Scale.

A= 90 - 100 B=80 89 C= 70 - 79 D= 60 - 69 F = 0 - 59

Class assignments/Projects must be completed and turned in on the due date.


Work must be completed per directions, neat and legible.
Students will have written assignments daily. These consists of a journal entry and/or vocabulary and
skills that are to be dated and kept in their composition book for grading and to study for quizzes and
tests.
Much of the class grade consists of hands on computer projects done in class along with written class
assignments.
Quizzes/Tests: Consists of vocabulary, concepts and software skills covered in class
Homework: Anything not completed in class in considered homework and must be turned in by the due
date. Sufficient class time is given for students to complete their assignments.
