INTRODUCTION

Renewable energy is energy that is produced from natural process that are continuously
replenished or we can say as unlimited energy supply. This energy include biomass energy,
sunlight energy or solar energy, wind energy and geothermal energy. This energy cannot be
finish and it always constantly renewed. Besides, this energy cannot be directly get from the
nature, it must undergo some process by using modern technology. The aim of this assignment
is to focus on the consumptions of electrical energy based on room that have been selected.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION FOR 1 WEEK

The calculation of consumption electrical device is based on tariff category. Table 2.0
below shown tariff category :
Formula to calculate electrical consumption :
1. Energy = Power Time.
2. Converts energy to kilowatts.
3. Usage over a moth period
4. Figuring out the cost by multiple based on tariff category.

a) Microwave

800 watts 0.33 hour = 264 watt-hours per day

264 watt-hours per day 1000 = 0.264 kWh per day
0.264 kWh per day 30 days = 7.92 kWh per month

Based on the current Tariff calculation,

1) First 200 kWh (0-200 kWh) per month: (7.92 * 21.80)/100 =RM 1.73

b) Refrigerator

200 watts 24 hours = 4800 watt-hours per day

4800 watt-hours per day 1000 = 4.8 kWh per day
4.8 kWh per day 30 days = 144 kWh per month
Based on the current Tariff calculation,

1) First 200 kWh (0-200 kWh) per month: (144 * 21.80)/100 = RM 31.39

c) Water heater

1000 watts 0.5 hours = 2000 watt-hours per day

2000 watt-hours per day 1000 = 2.0 kWh per day
2.0 kWh per day 30 days = 60 kWh per month

Based on the current Tariff calculation,

1) First 200 kWh (0-200 kWh) per month: (60 * 21.80)/100 = RM 13.08

d) Rice cooker

700 watts 0.5 hours = 350 watt-hours per day

350 watt-hours per day 1000 = 0.35 kWh per day
0.35 kWh per day 30 days = 21 kWh per month

1) First 200 kWh (0-200 kWh) per month: (21 * 21.80)/100 = RM 4.58
