Abstract Engineers can be best understood only through the recognition of pluralism. Consequently, as is true of
other building types, multiple design directions are prevalent for multi-storey buildings. This contemporary design trend
has produced many complex-shaped tall buildings such as twisted shape. Use of non-orthogonal multi-storey building is
current trend. The work undertaken is analysis of twisted multi-storeyed building of Hexagonal shape considering
variation in structural system and degree of rotation. The study was carried out to find the effect of angle of twist on
internal force, displacement and Base shear for the structural system cohesion. Optimum angle of twist for twisted
structures with various shapes and for various structural system cohesion for the same where found.

I. INTRODUCTION
In most developing frugalities around the world, the cities are growing at faster rates. One of the common features of
this progress is the need to grow vertical, as the horizontal
expansions. Hence, the use of multi-storey building is
increases. Multi-storey buildings with complex
geometrical shapes are emerging all over the world with
an accelerating rate.
Use of non-orthogonal multi-storey is currently the
latest trend. In the last few years twisted forms and freely
double-curved surfaces, which have many visual
properties in common have been rediscovered. Many non-
conventional and extraordinary shapes, twisted forms are
much easier to realize and design for engineers.

There exist many structural systems for multi-storey with straight forms, only a few of them can be applied for
twisted forms due to their complicated geometrical forms. These systems can be stated as follows:

IV. CONCLUSION
Optimum unit angles of twist for Hexagonal structure having Grid floor supported on straight column is 6.5930.
Optimum unit angles of twist for Hexagonal structure having Radial ribs supported on central core and suitably
located on columns is 15.070.
Variation of optimum unit angle of twist along the height of structure suggest that, the relative angle of twist of
any floor with respect to the floor below should not be uniform.
