Please I need to inquire whether this preparation guide is enough to pass the LEED General Associate Exam or do I still need to buy the LEED

Hello Al Zamer! Thank you for your interest in the LEED Green Associate Credential. Since each candidate seeking a LEED Green Associate
credential has a unique combination of knowledge and experience, it is difficult to recommend the definitive study materials one would need to
pass the exam. A great place to start are the references in the LEED Green Associates Candidate Handbook http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-
v4-green-associate-candidate-handbook. All of the references listed are free and available online, with the exception of the LEED Core Concepts
Guide, a resource which most exam candidates find to be very helpful. Since the primary sources for the development of the LEED Professional
Exams are the LEED Rating Systems, a detailed understanding of these are necessary for success. A great place to start is to download the
introductory sections to the reference guide for free here (scroll down to 'download for free' button): http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-

reference-guide-building-design-and-... After these resources have been explored and studied, most candidates seek the structure of study guides
(found here http://www.usgbc.org/store/products/publications), online or in-person courses (found here http://www.usgbc.org/education-at-
usgbc/listing/study) and practice exams to further their understanding of the information. Others may start with a course or study guide and
explore the resources in detail after. There are many paths to success for this exam, but I hope this offers a direction for you to start. We wish you
the best on your exam!

Hi Camilo, thank you for your interest in becoming a LEED Green Associate. We do not have a Spanish LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Guide.
However, we are working to make LEED as accessible as possible in Spanish. Here are some of the resources we offer in Spanish, which are
mostly free to Spanish speakers:
The LEED Green Associate exam can be taken with a Spanish translation aide. This means that the Spanish translation will appear alongside the
English exam questions.

I found the ATP study guide for the LEED General Associate Exam to be an excellent resource. There are quiz questions at the end of
each section, 50 additional test questions at the end, a glossary of terms, and an appendix with additional primary sources and descriptions of

codes referenced by LEED. The graphics and tips in each chapter were informative and helpful. The online version has a phone app with even
more questions and flashcards. This book was a big help in passing my exam. if you can find a couple hundred additional test questions for more
practice, this should be all you need to pass the LEED General Associate exam.

Hi Mr.Hall,
May I ask whether you only used this guide to pass the exam or did you have to study other references also. In other words, do you believe that
studying this guide is enough to pass?

I think this book is enough on it's own to pass the LEED Green Associate exam. There are other references that you need to know, but most of
those are free and all of those references are summarize in this textbook. Everything you need to know if covered by this textbook. If you feel like
you still need more study material, I would suggest finding more example test questions online or on an app.

I have purchased the e-book from American Technical Publishers.Unfortunately I can't use the book offline. I have written to them but no answer
received yet. It is not normal to pay for an e-book and the only way you can have access to it is through internet..... I didn't want to waste paper,
transportation etc. .....its was about environmentally friendly way of studding isn't it? but now I regret as I can't study at my convenience.
Please help!

Please start with this article (http://www.usgbc.org/node/10075156), as it provides excellent guidance for preparing for your LEED Green Associate
credential. As the article states, a great place to start is with the LEED Green Associates Candidate Handbook

The CaGBC version of the guide you purchased should be very similar to the one that was written by ATP based in Illinois. Both guides (if for v4)
should cover the same material as they are both based off the USGBC LEED Green Associate exam. I hope that helps.

There is an ambiguity in the Rainwater management section regarding the definition of asphalt as an impervious or pervious surface. On page 96 it
says 'When rainwater falls on impevious concrete and asphalt surfaces (hardscape)...' which defines asphalt as hardscape while on page 97
Reduce Impervious Hardscape it says ' Pervious surfaces for sidewalks and parking lots include porous pavement, asphalt and grid pavers. So, is
asphalt pervious or impervious?

Hi Sixing, the exam translation aid for the LEED Green Associate exam is available in the following languages: Chinese, French, German, Japanese,
Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish. When a translation aid is selected, the exam will be shown in English and the translated language. The
translation aid is meant to help someone with English as a second language understand the test questions, but it may not offer a direct translation.
When you register for the exam, you will have the option to select a different language. If a language other than English is selected, you will
receive a translation aid during the exam.

Hi Sally, thank you for your interest in earning your LEED Green Associate and LEED AP BD+C credentials. LEED AP BD+C study materials will
certainly help you prepare for the LEED Green Associate exam. However, the LEED Green Associate exam covers more content than just the LEED
BD+C rating system, such as LEED Green Associate tasks, LEED processes and credit categories, other LEED rating systems, and critical points on
green building. Please refer to the LEED Green Associate handbook (http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-green-associate-candidate-
handbook) for a general description of exam content areas for the LEED Green Associate exam. Since each candidate seeking a LEED credentials
has a unique combination of knowledge and experience, it is difficult to recommend the definitive study materials one would need to pass either
exam. A great place to start is with the LEED Green Associates Candidate Handbook http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-green-associate-

which is a very popular resource for people preparing for the LEED Green Associate exam. Since the primary sources for the development of the
LEED Professional Exams are the LEED Rating Systems, including the LEED BD+C rating system, a detailed understanding of these are necessary
for success. After these resources have been explored and studied, most candidates seek the structure of study guides (found here
http://www.usgbc.org/store/products/publications), online or in-person courses (found here http://www.usgbc.org/education-at-usgbc/listing/study)
and practice exams to further their understanding of the information. Others may start with a course or study guide and explore the resources in
detail after. There are many paths to success for these exams, but I hope this offers a direction for you to start.

Hi,
I have few questions regarding specific study materials proposed on USGBC web site for the Green Associate exam.

1- is there a book that will have more than one practice exam?
2- regarding the printable flash cards mention in the hard copy of the Preparation Guide, LEED v4,: how many flash cards are there in the book?
how can we print them from the book?
3- can I print the e-document of the Core Concept Study Guide when i purchase it? in other words, is it a pdf printable version? the reason i am
asking, because I prefer to read from a book, but at the same time I don't want to go through shipping issues mention by other exam candidates
on this page.
4- again, are the digital resources mentioned in the Study Bundle printable?
5- I live close to washington DC, does the USGBC have a book store that carry the proposed books in their web site.

Hello Angie, Thank you for your questions. Please see below for answers to your questions. We wish you the best on the exam!

1- is there a book that will have more than one practice exam?

Here are other USGBC endorsed products to help you prepare for your LEED Green Associate exam:

http://www.usgbc.org/education/sessions/leed-green-associate-v4-exam-prep-4901323

http://www.usgbc.org/education/sessions/all-inclusive-leed-v4-green-associate-exam-prep-9910260 (includes 200 practice questions)

http://www.usgbc.org/education/sessions/leed%C2%AE-exam-prep-101-practical-approach-acing-leed%C2%AE-v4-green-associate-exam-100556

2- regarding the printable flash cards mention in the hard copy of the Preparation Guide, LEED v4,: how many flash cards are there in the book?
how can we print them from the book?

LEED AP BD+C Exam Study Cards are a useful tool for learning the concepts assessed by the LEED AP Building Design and Construction (BD+C)
specialty exam. Created by an accomplished LEED Fellow, the 400 questions and answers cover LEED concepts, the LEED v4 BD+C rating
system credit categories, plus basic prerequisite and credit calculations. The study cards are divided into the following eight categories:

LEED Concepts, Innovation, and Regional Priority

Integrative Process
Location and Transportation
Sustainable Sites
Water Efficiency
Energy and Atmosphere
Materials and Resources
Indoor Environmental Quality

8/31/2017 LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation Guide, LEED v4 Edition | U.S. Green Building Council
The flash cards are hard copy flashcards. There may be a code in the book that allows you to go online and then print them but we do not have
access to that code.

3- can I print the e-document of the Core Concept Study Guide when i purchase it? in other words, is it a pdf printable version? the reason i am
asking, because I prefer to read from a book, but at the same time I don't want to go through shipping issues mention by other exam candidates
on this page.

It is a PDF. Please note: the book is currently not on back order so you should not experience any issues with purchasing the book online.

4- again, are the digital resources mentioned in the Study Bundle printable?

They are in PDF format.

5- I live close to washington DC, does the USGBC have a book store that carry the proposed books in their web site.

USGBC does not have a bookstore in Washington D.C. so you'll need to purchase through our online store.

Thank you again!

Thank you for your interest in LEED credentials! The basic credential is LEED Green Associate. A great place to start are the references in the
LEED Green Associates Candidate Handbook (http://cn.usgbc.org/resources/leed-green-associate-candidate-handbook-chinese). All of the listed
references are free, with the exception of the LEED Core Concepts Guide and LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation Guide
(http://cn.usgbc.org/resources/study-bundle-leed-green-associate-exam-preparation-guide-leed-v4-edition-and-leed-core-con), a resource which
most exam candidates find to be very helpful. Since the primary sources for the development of the LEED Professional Exams are the LEED
Rating Systems, a detailed understanding of these are necessary for success. After the above resources have been explored and studied, most
candidates seek the structure of study guides, online or in-person courses and practice exams to further their understanding of the information.
Others may start with a course or study guide and explore the resources in detail after.

The following resources will be helpful to you, which offer a route for those who are looking for a place to start.

"Are you ready to earn your LEED Green Associate credential?", 22 Feb 2016 by Alyssa Campagnoni, at the USGBC

"Sneak peak: Sample questions for the LEED v4 credential exams," March 31, 2014 by Nora Knox at the USGBC

Regarding the book prices, one of them is for people from organizations with USGBC membership.

Hello. I would like to purchase the LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation Guide, LEED v4 Edition as an e book, but I would like to know if it is in
pdf or some other format. I would also like to know, if I purchase the e book will I be getting the digital resources online as well (practice questions,
a complete practice exam, printable flashcards, an illustrated glossary, and more), and if yes would I be able to access them from different places,

Hi Antolin, Thank you for your interest in the LEED Green Associate credential. You must be 18 years old to take this exam, but beyond that there
are no eligibility requirements. However, we do recommended that you have exposure to LEED and green building concepts through education,
volunteering, or work experience. There is a Prometric testing center in Singapore. To learn more about dates and availability, please follow these
instructions: 1) Please visit www.prometric.com/ and enter "GBCI" in the Test Sponsor field.

2) Then, confirm "Green Business Certification Inc.", and click "Locate Test Center".

3) Choose the country that you are looking for from dropdown menu, and click "Next".

4) Then, choose "LEED Green Associate" from the dropdown menu, and click "Next".

5) Enter the city where you want to test, and click "search". When you see the testing center that looks most convenient for you, click "Availability"
next to the test center's location. This takes you to a clickable calendar showing the available times for each open day.

Thank you for your interest in LEED credential. "GBCI recommends that candidates taking the LEED Green Associate Exam have exposure to
LEED and green building concepts through educational courses, volunteering, or work experience prior to testing." Because of your construction
experience in MEP, you have in-depth understanding of building and its systems, which would be very helpful for your exam. If you would like to

Thank you for your interest in the LEED Green Associate Credential. Since each candidate seeking a LEED Green Associate credential has a
unique combination of knowledge and experience, it is difficult to recommend the definitive study materials one would need to pass the exam. In
addition to the LEED Associate exam preparation guide in this article, a great place to start are the references in the LEED Green Associates
Candidate Handbook http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-green-associate-candidate-handbook. All of the references listed are free and
available online, with the exception of the LEED Core Concepts Guide, a resource which most exam candidates find to be very helpful. Since the
primary sources for the development of the LEED Professional Exams are the LEED Rating Systems, a detailed understanding of these are
necessary for success. A great place to start is to download the introductory sections to the reference guide for free here (scroll down to
'download for free' button): http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-reference-guide-building-design-and-... After these resources have been
explored and studied, most candidates seek the structure of study guides such as the one in this article (found here
http://www.usgbc.org/store/products/publications), online or in-person courses (found here http://www.usgbc.org/education-at-usgbc/listing/study)
and practice exams to further their understanding of the information. Others may start with a course or study guide and explore the resources in
detail after. There are many paths to success for this exam, but I hope this offers a direction for you to start.

Thank you for your question about exam preparation resources and materials. We do not approve exam preparation materials in the same way that
we review and then approve or deny courses that meet our standards for continuing education (CMP requirements for LEED credentials). We can
never recommend that there is a short cut to passing the exam. I would recommend starting your exam preparation with the LEED Green Associate

Thank you for your interest in earning a LEED Green Associate credential. Because I work on the credentialing team, I cannot tell you that any
exam preparation course or materials will off a shortcut to becoming a LEED Green Associate. However, I strongly recommend that you review the
references used to write the exam and confirm your exam preparation covers all the test specifications listed in the candidate handbook:
http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-green-associate-candidate-handbook. That said, GBES is a USGBC Education Partner, and we have
worked closely with them on continuing education courses. We hope that you will find their exam preparation materials to be equally useful in
achieving your professional goals. Finally, You may want to confirm with other colleagues about the materials and methods they found useful. We
generally recommend that the candidate handbook be a primary resource in shaping your study plan. We cannot recommend a specific timeline,
because there are so many different levels of experience and expose to green building concepts. Be sure to master the concepts before you take
the test. Good luck!

Greetings,
Although I understand that it is self-paced, approximately how many hours does is it take to complete the LEED Green Associate v4 Exam Prep
(On-demand)? Some friends and I are planning to become Green Associates and would like to spend a week-end or two completing the course
together in a "workshop". Is this feasible time wise? Also, will the course be sufficient or will we need additional materials to be fully prepared for
the exam?
Cheers

While the courses in this series are self-paced, based on the course's AIA LU/HSW continuing education credits, we estimate that the course will
take 9.5 hours. Each candidate must determine what study methods and materials work best. We encourage you to review the Candidate
Handbook (http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-green-associate-candidate-handbook), especially the Exam Specifications and References

Thank you for contacting us regarding study resources for the LEED Green Associate v4 exam. The LEED GA v4 study guide is the most current
version the USGBC has published. We have not yet begun working on the next version of the LEED rating system.

There are a number of study resources available, and we have a video to walk you through them (http://vimeo.com/113606715). If you'd rather skip
straight to the links, please see the "LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation Guide, LEED v4 Edition, LEED version: v4"

Thank you for your interest in becoming a LEED credential holder. Please check out the Which LEED specialty is right for me? portion here:
http://www.usgbc.org/credentials. If you need more information about the rating systems, please also consider consulting the following article in
addition to the credentialing information: http://www.usgbc.org/articles/rating-system-selection-guidance. This webpage will list the current prices
for exams.

The green building industry distinguish their practice in a number of ways, and the benefits of earning a LEED credential will vary widely. LEED
credentials allow professionals to demonstrate their mastery of their related specialty. For example, it might be helpful for an urban planner to have
the LEED AP Neighborhood Development credential. However, their clients or firms may also be looking for education, professional experience,
LEED project experience or other criteria. An excellent point of reference is whether your current or target firm will be certifying any LEED projects
soon.

In short, it really varies quite widely. Consider how others are using it and how employers are valuing it. Please also consider checking out the
experience of seasoned, distinguished LEED professionals: http://www.usgbc.org/people/all/leed-fellow. Or check out job postings for your target
company or countries. Searching for "LEED" in one of your target websites may give you an idea of how well a LEED credential may benefit
professionals.

Good luck!

Why nobody from ATP/USGBC want to help and solve the problem of downloading this book...is it difficult? And why USGBC offer all books in

It doesn't work. It replies saying 'Phone number must be only numbers and no spaces' even writing it with no spaces and properly. It's not possible
to order it. When is LEED staff going to solve this and make available an ebook of LEED GA Exam Preparation a Guide?

I was hoping to get some feedback from people who have already written this exam. I have pre-ordered this study guide in preparation for me to
write the Green Associates Exam. I have not yet set a date for me to write it and was wondering if anyone had any idea of the time you should give
yourself to study before writing it. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Ravi Bajaj
Education Manager, Healthy Buildings International, Inc.

In our past experience, teaching the Green Associate prep course for LEEDv2009 - the Core Concepts and LEED Green Associate Study guides
provide a good starting point for exam preparation. We understand that this will be similar for the LEEDv4 Green Associate exam as well.

The exam requires an understanding of terms used, metrics defined, and referenced standards for the LEED for New Construction, Homes, and
Existing Buildings rating systems. As such, it is very important to understand the Glossary of Terms and Intro sections of the LEED for Homes and
O+M rating systems (as referenced in the Green Associate Candidate Handbook). This should be supplemented with practice exams to prepare
you for the exam format.

In short - you can get away with studying from this Study Guide, the Core Concepts and the free Primary References listed in the Candidate
Handbook. An understanding of the New Construction Rating System, LEEDOnline, and practice exams will help significantly.

Thanks,
Ravi

Hi Panagiotis,

While this book is a great resource, I recommend you start by reading the Candidate Handbook. It outlines what you need to study and what
resources are available.

Thanks!

I noticed from their website, that the publisher ATP sells the book for $95 -- as compared to the $99.00 "non-member" USGBC price listed here.

i have registered for my exam for end November 2014. May i request your guidance on study material required for the green associate exam. Is it
the LEED v4 edition link given online? How long would a hard copy take to reach me at Singapore and if too long, then do i have an option to
request for a soft copy? Also, is this the only material for study? Since i have the exam end of next month, i would appreciate an early reply.
Thanks!!!
