Filipinos in daily life even living in a small house and with limited food the most important is
that all the members of the family are present and share all the blessings served around the table.
Family in its own structure is perceivable among Filipinos everywhere. Since it is defined as the
basic unit of society, in Filipino manner the family is not just merely a structure or an
organization headed by people with ages. Filipinos goes beyond the transparent structure and
delve into the very essence of living with togetherness.

I would like to affirm the word of the researcher in his study. It is indeed true that in our
time today there are plenty of changes happening in our society today. In terms of Filipino family
orientation, it is also present. The comparative society before and today have a range of
differences. The essence of family ties before is very much highlighted whereas today it is
slowly diminishing.

These changes are present and very much relevant with the millennial period today.
Indeed, family is one of the place the perfect place and avenue to enrich, nourish, revive and
empower the core of Filipino values. In all persons around the world it is undeniable that each
person experience or face challenges and problems in life. Part of those are mentioned in the
research. There are challenges that one among the member of the family sacrifices to be far away
just to raise and provide what is suited for the family. The misunderstanding among the members
due to generation gap. The lack of intimacy between the parents and the children due to work.
The trend of technological advancements also contributes and add to the challenges that opens
another mentality to the young ones. The unescapable reality of poverty is also one of the major
problem faced by many. All these challenges are present in the article written. It is not just a
normal problem hence it is a serious one. One of the factors is that modernity in our time is not
bad but the other side of it is that it corrupts the mind of anyone either the young one or old. It
needs an aid or solution. That is why the family is there and it must have a very firm and strong
foundation so that it could hold and last infinitely. However, Filipinos according to the researcher
it is true that whatever problem comes in the Filipinos try to be resilient and fearlessly face such
trials. Even if it comes to the point that that problems are unbearable but it is part of the values of
the Filipinos is to smile and make an effort to remain optimistic and always look on the bright
side. Also part of a Filipino family is being religion based. Filipinos regard much all the values
taught in the church. Whatever belief each family belief the religion is also part of the core that
ties the family.

Among us Filipinos in view of family matters it is usually compact relation. It has its own
distinct and vital role in the society. Traditionally, the ideal family is composed of Father,
Mother, and children. However, Filipinos due to deep relationship among the members even the
extended family live in one house. House is defined as a structural building. House for Filipinos
is the symbol of unity where the real home is found and is lived present among the people in the
family.

amidst all odds. I am deeply touched because we cannot omit challenges in life but we can still
manage to smile and stand bravely prior to all the obstacles. For us Filipinos problems are not
