Billions of years ago Earth was formed and throughout the years it has changed in a variety of

ways. One major component on Earth has constantly been changing since its great formation. This
component is describing Earths climate. Earth has recently exited an ice age and is progressively
warming back up. However, this warming process is being tremendously accelerated due to human
forces and natural forces. Humans are causing Earths climate to change by mainly burning fossil fuels,
which release old carbon dioxide into the air causing climate change to accelerate its speed. Also, there
are natural causes that can cause Earths climate to change. These natural causes include plate tectonics,
that cause continental drifting causing wing and ocean currents to change, and volcanic actively which
adds ash and gases into the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide. Due to this rapidly increasing climate
effects such as rising sea levels, changes in agricultural patterns, and a different ecosystem.

The first major effect that will occur due to climate change is a rising sea level. Increase to sea
levels will occur when the rising temperature reaches the poles and melts a substantial amount of
glaciers and sea ice. Once these unit of ice melt they will travel into the global oceans and cause them to
rise. Also, if the sea water would heat up it would expand and engulf areas such as Florida and even
areas in China. But, there are precautionary steps I can take to lower the pace at which the sea level will
rise. One step I will take is to write a letter to the government to emphasize the importance of climate
change and what can be done to slow the process. Also, I will state that using policies such as cap and
trade will benefit the Earth because it will drasticly lower the amount of harmful gases, such as carbon
dioxide, entering Earths Atmosphere

In addition to a rising sea level, climate change will cause agriculture patters to change. One way
agriculture will be changed is by the yield within crops will decrease. Yield will degrease because many
crops cannot grow in an overheated environment and may cause farmers to move to a better
environment for farming. Also, livestock of farms will be threatened due to a change in climate. Many
animals will parish in this raised climate due to an overwhelming amount of heat. Lastly, as climate
continues to change the land, used for farming, will soon become useless because of an increase in
droughts. Luckily, I believe if the world were to use a cap and trade policy these events can be drastically
delayed. A cap and trade policy will reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses
by setting limits on how much harmful gases a factory can release. Finally, by starting this policy the
amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases will substantially decrees and help to keep Earths
agriculture safe.

Lastly, due to climate change it is possible Earth could experience a massive change in its
ecosystem. One change to Earths ecosystem would be animals and insects migrating to another area
that will fit their needs. For example mosquitoes will travel north because they will be able to live in
northern areas with warmer climates. Furthermore, the ecosystem will be affected because many
species will struggle to survive and as a result many other species will struggle to survive. Moreover,
climate change will encourage the spread of varies diseases and pathogens. These viruses could enter an
ecosystem and kill off a vital animal causing the whole ecosystem to collapse. As an individual I believe to
solve this ecosystem problem I can takes steps such as recycling to lower the amount of fuel created by
new products and ride a bike instead of the car to lower the amount of fossil fuels emitted into the air.

Conclusively, climate change is a deadly process that will continue to occur and cause effects
such as rising sea level, change in agriculture, and altering ecosystems. However we as humans can take
steps to slow down climate change and avoid events such as the ones stated above. As an individual we
can all make a change to lower th
