Pre-Questionnaire Graphs

We carried out a pre-questionnaire for 30 individuals to help us collect information for our
production. The results of the questionnaire are below.

What gender are you?

Male Female

We asked 15 people from both genders, as we know that both males and females have an equal
chance of viewing our production and give a fair review. This is why we had a 50/50 result for
this question.

What age range do you fit into?

15-20 21-25 26-30

For this question we had to ask individuals from the younger year and older due to our target
audience. 20 of our participants were from the age category 15 -20, 7 from 21 25, 3 from 26
30.

From the results we collected for this question we gathered that our audience knew the genre
was Horror as 29 said it and the 1 other said was supernatural, which shows our synopsis does
the job.

After our participants read the synopsis they all figured out that our film title directly correlated
to the film.
 How many time a month do you watch short films?

0-3 4 -- 6 7+

For this question 20 individuals said 0 3, 6 said 4 6, and 4 said 7+. This shows that most of
our participants havent watched that many short films.

How long would your ideal short film be?

0 - 3 Minutes 4 - 6 Minutes 7 - 11 Minutes 12+ Minutes

19 people said they prefer 0 3 minutes, 3 said 4 6 minutes, 6 said 7- 11 minutes, and 2 said
12+ minutes. This shows that most of our participants prefer a shorter film than a longer one.

26 of our participants said 0 3, 3 said 4 6, and 1 said 7+. This shows that most of our
participants dont watch that many horror films each month.

What aspect of the script is the strongest?

Characters Narrative Title

2 individuals said that the strongest aspect of our script was our characters, 8 said title, and 20
said narrative. This shows that the participants thought that our narrative was our strongest
aspect and our characters were our weakest aspect.

27 of our participants have said that our narrative is clear whilst the other 3 said it wasnt. This
was expected as the storyline follows a simple structure at the beginning, but changes
significantly towards the end.

19 participants said yes, 11 said no. This was mainly relating to the aspect that the protagonist
was an older sibling looking after a younger sibling, which some participants were able to relate
to on a personal view.

11 said yes, 19 said no for this question. Our film ends in a murder, which can cause some
individuals to become emotive. However, since our film is of the Horror genre it didnt affect as
many people as I thought.

After reading the synopsis, what certification would you

give our film?

9 people had said 12, 20 people said 15, and 1 said 18. Since we gave our film certification a 15
after careful consideration it wasnt a surprise that the majority had voted for that.

20 individuals said 20 and 10 said no. These results correlate to the previous question as to
voting what the age certification of our film should be.

29 people said that our film fits the Horror genre, which is the whole purpose of creating a scary
storyline within the synopsis. Also, the one other vote was for supernatural, which relates to our
film as well.
 Would you pay to go and view our short film in the cinema?

Yes No

28 individuals said they would go a view our short film in the cinema, whereas 2 said no. These
results were reasonable as not everyone would enjoy the same film.
