Board Configuration (2)

Board Type
Slot 1 can only be configured with the RCU board. Slot 2 can be configured with the RCU
and RTU board. Slots 3 to 8 can be configured with the RTU board or the RMU board.
Transmit Unit
If Slot 1 and Slot 2 are RCU, default value is 0 and cannot be modified.
If Slot 2 to Slot 8 are RTU, default value is 2 8 and cannot be modified.
If Slot 3 to Slot 8 are RMU, default value is 3 8 and can be modified.
If 1+1 protection is to be configured, the RMU board types must be the same. Generally,
slots 3 and 4, slots 5 and 6, or slots 7 and 8 are configured as the same transmit unit. The
transmit unit No. is the same as either of the slot No.
Master Slot / Slave Slot
Only in 1+1 protection configuration and when same type RMU boards are configured,
master or slave can be selected for slots of a pair.
Other types of boards are set to Master as default.
Function
If Function of the RTUB board is configured as STM-1 ADM/TM, E1 and STM-1 services are
supported.
If Function of the RTUB board is configured as STM-4/STM-1Transparant, E1 and STM1 and
STM-4 services are supported.
For other types of boards, Function is set as default.

Work Mode Configuration

Transmit Unit Name: identify the direction of the current MU. Configure according to
the actual conditions.
Bandwidth: supports 7M/14M/28M/56M/40M/50M
Modulation Mode: supports QPSK/16QAM/32QAM/64QAM/128QAM/256QAM

Radio capacity of V2.00 equipment is allocated dynamically, so TDM mode configuration is not necessary.

A broader bandwidth indicates a higher modulation mode and a larger radio

transmission capacity but a lower system tranceiving performance.

Internal Use Only

Protection Configuration (1)

ZTE Corporation. All rights reserved.

Internal Use Only

Protection Configuration (2)

Protection Type: configure according to planning and design.
No Protection indicates that the system has no protection.
HSB indicates that the system uses the protection of 1+1 hardware hot backup.
SD indicates that the system uses the protection of antenna diversity reception.
FD indicates that the system uses the protection of different transmitting and receiving
frequencies.
Protect Mode:
Revert indicates that when the service signal on the active path is degraded, the
service is switched to the standby path; when the service signal on the active path
becomes normal, the service is switched to the active path. In this case, the Revertive
Time(300~800 ms) parameter should be configured, which defines the time for
waiting the service to be switched back to the active path. The value range is 300 to
800 ms.
Automatic indicates that the system will perform automatic switchover according to
the active/standby path status. In this case, the system automatically sets the IF/RF
transmitting path and the revertive time.
If Forced is selected and the protection type is HSB or SD, IFTxPath and RFTxPath
also need to be specified. If FD is selected, only IFTxPath needs to be specified.
Link ID: identification for a link. This value of equipment in both ends must be identical,
otherwise there will be alarms.

ZTE Corporation. All rights reserved.

Internal Use Only

ATPC Configuration
ATPC Enable: select ON to enable and OFF to disable ATPC.
ATPC High Threshold and ATPC Low Threshold: default value is -45 and -65.
Min Tx Power: set the minimum Tx power under ATPC
Max Tx Power: set the maximum Tx power under ATPC

During the process of exchanging microwave link's antennas, ATPC switch should
be set to OFF, and the transmitting power of ODU should be set to an appropriate
value.
The ATPC function can be accomplished even if it is enabled on only one end.

After the ATPC function is disabled, the transmission power of ODU return to the

value before ATPC is enabled. That may lead to instantaneous link disconnection.

ZTE Corporation. All rights reserved.

Internal Use Only

ACM Configuration
ACM Enable: select ON or OFF to enable or disable the ACM function.
From the Start Profile drop-down list, select the start modulation mode. From the
End Profile drop-down list, select the destination mode, which should be higher than
the start modulation mode.
Running Tx Profile and Running Rx Profile define the modulation modes used by
the system.

During the process of exchanging microwave link's antennas, ACM Switch should be
set to OFF.
The ACM function can be implemented only after it is enabled at both ends of the link.

The change of ACM Switch status leads to instantaneous link disconnection.

Frequency and TX Power Configuration

According to the frequencies in the microwave link planning, enter the frequencies of
active ODU and standby ODU in Set Tx Frequency(kHz) with the unit as kHz. The
TX frequency must be within the range of Tx Frequency range(kHz).
In Set Tx Power(dBm), enter the TX power of the active ODU and the standby ODU.
The TX power of ODU must be within the range of Tx Power range(dBm).
Current parameters are shown in Current Rx Frequency, Current Tx Frequency,

NR8250 XPIC Configuration Principles

LAG Configuration under XPIC
XPIC Configuration

ZTE Corporation. All rights reserved.

Internal Use Only

NR8250 XPIC Configuration Principles (1)

XPIC is implemented by the RMUC board. For non-protection 2+0 XPIC function, two
RMUC boards are required. For 2+2 protection XPIC function, four RMUC boards are
required.
Before configuring the XPIC function, ensure that the RMUC boards are inserted in
the same XPIC group. The XPIC groups are as follows:
XPIC group 1: RMUC boards in slot 3 and slot 4
XPIC group 2: RMUC boards in slot 5 and slot 6
XPIC group 3: RMUC boards in slot 7 and slot 8

Three 2+0 XPIC groups can be

configured. Only one 2+2 XPIC group
can be configured that uses XPIC
group 2 and uses Slot 5, 6 , 7 and 8.

ZTE Corporation. All rights reserved.

Internal Use Only

NR8250 XPIC Configuration Principles (2)

When configuring the XPIC function, ensure that the following requirements are met during initial
configuration:
Board configuration
2+0 configuration: Two RMUC boards are required. They must be inserted into the same XPIC
group. The RMUC boards in the same XPIC group must be configured as different transmit
units
2+2 configuration: Four RMUC boards are required. They are inserted in slots 5 to 8. The
RMUC boards in the same XPIC group must be configured as the same transmit unit. The two
RMUC boards in the same XPIC group are configured as the master slot and slave slot
respectively.
Configuration of wireless link work bandwidth
2+0 configuration: For the RMUC boards in the same XPIC group, the bandwidth selected in
the work mode configuration must be the same, and the value can only be 28 M or 56 M.
2+2 configuration: For the four RMUC boards in the same XPIC group, the bandwidth
selected in the work mode configuration must be the same, and the value can only be 28 M or
56 M.
Protection mode needs to be configured for 2+2 configuration. Three protection modes are
available: HSB, SD, and FD. When faults occur, the transmit unit performs protection by using the
1+1 protection mode.
ODU parameters configuration
2+0 configuration: During ODU parameter configuration, the RMUC boards in the same group
need to be configured with the same ODU transmit frequency and power.
2+2 configuration: During ODU parameter configuration, the four RMUC boards need to be
configured with the same transmit power and frequency if the protection type is HSB or SD.
Configure LACP aggregation group: For either 2+0 or 2+2 configuration, all XPIC transmit units
need to be configured with the same aggregation group.

Internal Use Only

LAG Configuration under XPIC

If logic ports of two MU transmit units of a XPIC group are in a same Ethernet
switching page, there will be Ethernet storm. These two logic ports must be set in a
same LAG.
Set the ports of corresponding transmit units in a same group.

It is recommended to select Manual for Aggregation Policy and select Src and
Dst MAC for Load Strategy.
