Answer: Learn English.

Below in this answer, you will find plethora of resources and techniques to crack PTE
Academic however fact remains that best way to prepare for PTE is to learn English (the
best way). My only other tip is to challenge yourself, every day, every minute and every
second.

When it comes to learning any language, the biggest obstacle is one itself. You need to
unlearn a lot of things to learn new things Your competition is YOU. Listen to your
recordings, try to be more fluent; read an article with stopwatch, break the time next
time - read different article more fast and never miss out the meanings of passages;
listen English movies and TV shows without subtitles and then repeat the sentences in
your brain.

Below, I will provide the tips to best of my knowledge and some very helpful learning
sources too and this for sure, will help you or anyone to uplift the PTE score.

Some General Tips:

I wont advise you to remove your fear. Fear is important. It will make you
focus to solution. One needs to control fear and turn it into power.
Do meditation and stay mentally fit.
Some people, not for PTE Academic but in general, use the combination of
aspirin (3 hours before) and coffee(45 minutes) before. It elevates the
concentration and focus. Consult your physician, though safe but its not my
recommendation.
Couple of days before exam, start speaking in English only.
Go to toilet just before you enter the examination room.
In the 10 minutes rest after reading section, dont take a break by moving from
your seat. Stay on your seat, close your eyes, meditate and relax your brain and
prepare it for next round. Dont be distracted in the break.
Do share your results after the exam with us.

I am writing this answer in order to help anyone who is facing difficulty in scoring 79+ in
PTE Academic. This answer would be useful for those non-native speakers who find it
tough to express their views and are not absolute fluent in English language.

My first attempt scores were L-59, R-77, S-87, W-62. I failed to get even 65+ in all the
sections. After the results were declared I booked the exam in a months time as I
thought, the next time I would leave no stone unturned.

To begin I bought the book The Official Guide to PTE. Heres the link:

Buy The Official Guide to the Pearson Test of English (Pearson Tests of English) Book
Online at Low Prices in India

I would not compel you to buy this book as I only found the practice questions in the CD-
ROM useful. The theory part just explains the test format, what is tested in each section.
You can easily understand that through different youtube channels whose link I will be
providing in the following text.

So lets start.

First of all I want you have the right mindset, the right attitude towards this exam. In
preparation for any exam, rather than seeing that as an arduous task to accomplish see it
as a means to improve on a particular skill set, in this case improve your English
language proficiency. I failed the first time, but it kind of motivated me to do my best the
next time. Instead of seeing your failures as confirmation of your inability to do
something, see a failure as a setback: it can be motivating, informative, even a wake-up
call.

LETS BEGIN. Firstly, I would suggest you to go through all the videos by navjot brar.
She is an angel in disguise. The tips and strategies she used would really help a non-
native speaker to score highly in speaking and writing. Also go through all the webinars
by E2 PTE Academic .

Speaking is really an easy section if you prepare well for the describe image and retell
lecture. I just followed what navjot brar suggests in her videos on these two topics.
Follow her tips and strategies as they clearly worked for me.

Writing can be challenging and time should be managed. The best answer to Summarize
written text will contain only 3035 words and essay should be between 270290 words,
so practice accordingly. And essays are repeated so I am attaching some useful model
answers in this link. Dont get overwhelmed, just read and find for yourself which one is
the best. Gather ideas and write in your own words. Follow the structure and learn some
key sentences and words to save time like starting the introduction and conclusion part.

PTE essays - Google Drive

Reading can be tricky and just go with your intuitions and gut feeling while attempting
Fill in the Blanks. Re-order paragraphs can be solved easily by following the method by
navjot brar and E2PTE. While preparing just read a lot from different sources and
unconsciously you will pick words which are often written together (collocations). Here
is a list of collocations by PTE.

http://pearsonpte.com/wp-content...

For single answer questions, read the question then go through the text find your
own answer then match with the given options.

For multiple choice questions, read the question- then go through all the given options-
then read the text. (HINT- Select only 2 answers if 5 or 6 options are given, 3 answers if 7
options )

Finally, the Listening Section: Use a proper structure for Summarize spoken text. For eg,
start by The speaker talks about/described/discussed about..FirstlyAlso.He/She
concluded by

This structure will help you properly organize your thoughts and write quickly.

For general listening practice, listen to podcasts on different topics to get used to hearing
English in different accents.

Do not waste much time on MCQ and correct summary questions, as I was not able to
complete my listening exam in my first attempt. Makes notes for the 1st four
questions.i.e. Summarize spoken text, single answer, mcq, choosing the correct
summary.

I am attaching a few more strategies and material that I studied and found useful. I will
write specific detailed answers for each question in the next few days.
Imp PTE Preparation Material

Finally after a lot of practice I attempted a scored mock test by Welcome - PTE
Academic (Silver kit). It's the official website of Pearson and mock tests are scored in the
same way as in the real exam. So it gives you a fair idea of where you stand although it is
a little bit tougher than the real one.

I would highly recommend you to take this mock test one week before the scheduled test
date to assess your present skills and find out what kind of answer will work to get a high
score.

Hope you find this answer useful.

P.S. This is a computer based test which is corrected by an artificially intelligent system.
Just give the computer what it wants to get what you want.

As with any test preparation is the key and here are four key steps to
success. You need to have the right level of academic English for your goal.
There are lots of free materials on the internet that you can use. More
importantly, Pearson publishes a huge range of print and digital English
materials that will help you improve your level.
Secondly, anyone taking PTE Academic needs to know the test and develop
strategies to answer the questions. Again there are a number of materials that
give information about the test format, timings, key test tips and practice for
the 20 different task types.
Thirdly, focus more time on weak areas. If tasks like essay writing are more
challenging for you, practice writing more essays!
Finally, practice, practice, practice. You need to repeatedly practice tasks in the
test and analyze the sample answers so you know whats tested and what makes
a good response. You also need to put yourself under timed conditions and
pretend you are doing a real test. It will prepare you mentally and emotionally
for Test Day.
Key tips for test day

General

Make sure youve prepared so that you have the right level of English for your
goal, know the test format and timings and have practiced the test questions.
Arrive early at the test center. If youre rushed, it will affect your performance.
Write with full sentences, capital letters and full stops. You can lose marks if
you leave out punctuation and write entirely in capital letters.
Dont repeat lots of words that you hear or read. Try to paraphrase within your
answers.
Be confident of your answer choices when you answer the multiple choice,
multiple answers tasks (Reading and Listening) and highlight incorrect words
(Listening) because you can lose marks for any wrong answers that you choose.
Speaking sections

(Read aloud, Repeat sentence, Describe image, Re-tell lecture, Answer short question)

Dont worry too much about managing your time. In the speaking section, the
computer will control the time you spend on each task all you have to do is
click Next.
Speak at a good volume and at a normal pace. If you speak too quietly or
quickly, this may affect your score.
If you make a mistake, carry on. You could waste time correcting yourself and
getting stressed.
Writing sections

(Summarize written text, Write essay)

Manage your time. You have 10 minutes for Summarize written text and 20
minutes for Write essay.
Write within the word limits or youll lose marks. Your answer for Summarize
written text should be one sentence of 5-75 words and your essay should be
200-300 words.
Reading sections

(Multiple choice, choose single answer, Multiple choice, choose multiple answers, Re-
order paragraphs, Reading: Fill in the blanks, Reading & writing: Fill in the blanks)

Manage your time. You have 32-41 minutes to complete all the tasks in this
section so make sure you are strict about how long you spend on each task.
Give yourself plenty of time on the multiple choice questions. They make look
easy but they are quite challenging.
Listening sections

(Summarize spoken text, Multiple choice, choose multiple answers, Fill in the blanks,
Highlight correct summary, Multiple choice, choose single answer, Select missing word,
Highlight incorrect words, Write from dictation)
Be smart about using the erasable note board booklet. There is very little
checking time in the Listening part of the test so either type notes onto the
screen or know exactly how much time you have to transfer notes from your
note board booklet to the screen.
Manage your time.Dont spend too long on the multiple choice questions, make
your answer choice and move on or you risk losing marks on other tasks.
Remember the Listening part of the test has the most task types to get through.

PTE Score (Second Attempt)

Speaking : 82

Reading : 75

Listening : 82

Writing : 78

First of all i have uploaded my mark sheet which shows my eligibility to answer this
question.

Also to start with any advice , i will say that if you have a decent english background , it is
very highly possible to get a 75 in PTE.

I just wanted to know why 75? as to get equivalent to 8 bands in IELTS, you need to get
79 in each section.

I know i couldnt score more than 75 in speaking is because i didnt speak slowly and
correctly pronouncing each word and thus that factor you should definelty keep in mind
and practise accordingly.

PTE is all about knowing the sections and how to answer them , so preparation is for that
rather than the conventional preparation. Now i will guide you through each section
which is Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening and what are the things if you keep in
mind while preparing you will be easily be able to score 75 in PTE
1.Speaking : Speak each and every word clearly and pronounce it properly, Watch english
tv series or take help of google voice to know the exact pronunciation of common words.
Practise recording various samples of your voice and listen to the pronunciation. Its the
flow that matters and listen to sample answers which are available on the internet and
try to learn to speak like that.

2.Writing : Writing in PTE is easier as there are various tricks which can help you score
very easily . First of all, use correct punctuations and capital letters required. Use correct
spellings and dont try to use complex words, use decent vocabulary so that there are less
chances of spelling mistakes. Organise your paragraphs while write to give an
introduction, body and conclusion.

3.Listening : Watch english movies with different english accents so as to understand

english from various accents. Listening is more about concentration so in this try to
improve your concentration to increase the skill in listening. Talking to people who have
sound knowledge of english and who speak well will help to develop good skill in
listening as well as speaking

4.Reading : Reading is basically your general knowledge about english and the grammer
regarding the same. More reading, as in the day to day articles in the newspaper will help
you make this skill better and better. Read as much as possible to improve your
vocabulary and grammer, and also the logical arrangement of a statement in english.

Each section in PTE is related to each other and once you improve your skill in each
section that will improve your skill in other sections too thus giving a multiplier effect
which would in turn increase your overall english skill to be given in PTE.

Practise tests do help you to be familier about the questions to be asked in the actual
exam so i suggest you to go for practise test but dont score them as the score wont show
an actual picture of what actual score you will get in your final exam.

One month is more than enough to practise these skills but in this month do practise all
the things which i have mentioned above religiously and to score the required marks
wont be difficult at all.

I will tell you people do score 85+ in PTE exam who has these skills mastered and even i
am going to give another attempt and i want to achieve 85+ score this time and keep
guiding people regarding the said exam.

Please feel free to like and comment if you liked my answer as that would give me
confidence to help more people and feel good about myself.

PS. My pic in my mark sheet doesnt represent my actual looks

PTE is an online English exam which is designed to measure the Reading , Writing ,
Speaking and Listening skills of a candidate who desires to either study abroad or want
to get PR.
Since people are largely unaware about PTE and the way exam is conducted, certain
difficulties arise whilst preparing for the paper and attempting the paper. Given below
are some tips which will help students to achieve a better score in PTE- Academic. Read
on:-

While attempting writing tasks, use correct punctuations: commas, full stops,

capital letters, etc. When asked to summarize text, make sure that your
response must be between 5 to 75 words. Responses less than 5 words and
more than 75 words will not be scored.
While writing an essay, identify the main topic; areas one needs to focus upon
and any specific point of view that you might be asked to take. Keep in mind
the word limit which is usually between 200-300 words.
During speaking, respond quickly and keep on speaking. Microphone will
automatically stop recording after 3 seconds of silence. You will be given 10-40
seconds depending upon the task, to look and understand the text before
recording starts.
In speaking section, make sure that you include as many important points as
you can in the short span of time that you get. Make use of complex and
compound sentences and stress on words which you feel need to be
highlighted.
In reading section, use prompts and text boxes that appear along with the text
in different tasks, carefully to get an idea as to what the text is about. These will
help you understand the main idea of the text.
Develop your vocabulary and grammar skills to help you tide over reading
sections easily.
When you take notes while attempting listening section, make sure that you
note down the main idea as well as the supporting arguments which will
essentially help you to frame your response in a better way and will fetch you
good marks.
Remember to thoroughly check what you ha ve written for any grammar or
spelling mistake. Give yourself sometime to re-check your responses once.
Many students get intimidated by the complex nature of PTE. However, all one needs to
be is little organized and attentive and they can clear this test with flying colors.

Good Luck!

As far as writing is concerned, the precursor is reading.Only if read, you will start getting
ideas.Pick any topic that comes to your head and write.after writing, proofread it for
mistakes.Coming to speaking, your first step should be to communicate more with people
in English, even if you make mistakes.A mirror is one's best friend. Pick any
topic, prepare it for a minute in your head and speak it in front of the mirror. Trust me it
really helps and is a proven method.
As far as listening is concerned, start listening to slow speeches first and then move to
faster speeches. In a span of thirty days I guess it will work.good luck!

I had only 1 week to prepare and I scored 90 on all 4 tasks. I have been in IT for a while
and I lived in the US for some time. Hence, I was confident that I will be get good scores.
Nevertheless, I spent around 2 hours per day for about a week. I have given the steps
that worked for me and may not necessarily work for everyone. It will work for you if
your general oral and written communication skills are good.

I did not take IELTS based on my research that PTE allows you to score more and I was
looking for 20 points for PR.

Take a free mock test and understand the format as well as your weaker areas. I realized
that it was repeat sentence, image description and a bit on rearrange paragraphs as it
was time contrained. After that I really practiced a lot through videos on you tube. First
thing to do after a mock test is to go through videos from Navjot Brar. Secondly, see
videos from E2E Language as well.

Speak fluently on all tests and never hesitate or stop. This is the key along with
pronunciation in all speaking tests. Whatever content you are aware, just speak with that
and that suffice.

Also, choose a small center. I went to a center that has only 5 seats. Ensure you look at
time and keep moving always.

To be more precise on each section I have called out mistakes I made as well so that
people can be aware that they can score high irrespective of making a few mistakes

Speaking

1. Read Aloud No Preparation needed

a. No need to worry if you missed or mispronounced a word. Just move on. It ignores
simpler errors and you still could get to 90

2. Repeat sentence Minimal practice try 10 to 20 sentences

a. Close your eyes and concentrate. This really helps as the center may be noisy
b. Secondly, as you hear the sentence, break it into meaningful parts and this again helps
to recollect

c. The same is applicable for Write from Dictation as well

d. Do not worry again about missing certain words. I missed some and still got to
90.Fluency and pronunciation are key.

3. Describe Image Practise, Practise, Practise. This section required a lot of practice,
atleast for me try around 100 with sample answers

a. Simple structure Introduction, 2 or 3 sample observations and conclusion

b. I did not understand few graphs I just read from the chart

c. I did not summarize a few and I still scored full

d. Do not worry about covering a lot data from the chart. 1 or 2 will do.

4. Re-Tell Lecture Minimal practice Try 10 to 20

a. Take lots of notes

b. You will make a lot of points and all you need to is speak coherently based on those
words.

c. If you have time, summarize

5. Answer short question No Preparation needed

a. Just answer in 1 or 2 words

b. I made 2 mistakes here and again that did not matter

6. Summarize text No Preparation needed Just try 1 or 2 samples of writing complex

sentences

a. There is ample time for this in the test

7. Essay No Preparation needed - Use fancy words and complex sentences all through

a. Introduction and your opinion.- I am of the opinion, I am inclined to believe . This

essay will discuss advantages and disadvantages and will lead to a logical conclusion.

b. Supporting point 1 Firstly / To begin with, As an example, Therefore,,,

c. Supporting point 2 Secondly / In addition to / Moreover. For instance,

d. If need be, 1 more supporting point

e. Conclusion and closure To recapitulate, the aforesaid / aforementioned points ..

f. There is ample time for this in the test as well

Reading
1. Multiple choice Single Answer No Preparation needed

a. Practice a few

b. Spend enough time as this section seems to have good time

2. Multiple choice Multiple Answer No Preparation needed

a. Practice a few

b. Choose only answers that you are very confident about as this may have negative
scoring for wrong answers

c. Spend enough time as this section seems to have good time

3. Re-Order Needs some preparation

a. Use tips from Navjot Brar

b. Spend some time in the exam on this

c. Practise 20 to 30

4. Fill in Blanks No Preparation needed if your vocabulary is good

5. Fill in the Blanks 2 Same as above

Listening

1. Summarize spoken test

a. Almost Same as re-tell lecture

b. No Preparation needed

c. Make notes and ensure your summary is crisp

d. Spend enough time as this section seems to have good time

2. Multiple choice Multiple Answer No Preparation needed

a. Practice a few

b. Choose only answers that you are very confident about as this may have negative
scoring for wrong answers

3. Fill in Blanks No Preparation needed if your vocabulary is good

4. Highlight correct Summary Just practice a few and you are done

5. Select missing word No Preparation needed - Just practice a few and you are done

6. Highlight incorrect word Absolutely no preparation needed

7. Write from dictation same as repeat sentence.

Please ensure you take at-least 2 mock tests 1 before preparation and 1 after
preparation. Good luck folks!

PTE - Pearson test of English is fairly novice in origin comparison to the other
contemporary test of English testing. PTE tests all of the four enabling skills - listening,
speaking, reading and writing. It is not a herculean task but challenging. One need to
make a coherent preparation strategy.

As a trainer I was privileged to get an opportunity to train some of my students who

scored more than 80 in PTE. Some are Important tips for PTE.

For speaking- Speaking is one of the core skills in PTE. Let's me give sections analysis
and required strategy.

1. Read aloud - This is very scoring section as its having 15 points weight age
which is huge in itself. You can improve this section with the help of reading
loudly while reading paper and magazine and record it. Focus on some skills
such as - pronunciation, fluency and intonation. To make it more clear read
words together and break long words or statements in to chunks.
2. Repeat sentence- This section also having 15 points contribution. This is
integrated task where listening and speaking are measured so prepare this task
in integration. Try and copy the pattern and flow of the speaker. Note that -
dont try and copy the accent.
3. Answer short question required to have some basic knowledge of day to day life
in language interaction.
4. Re-tell lecture- Here you will listen a lecture along with an image on screen.
Look at it focus on speaking. In this try and make notes while listening. Dont
write everything just write key informative things.
For Writing -

1. Essay writing-This task needed fast and accurate writing. Here one need to
work on writing skills. Which consist of - grammar and writing etiquette.
Always make a framework for it and plan and organize ideas carefully.
2. Summary writing - This is in two forms - written summary and spoken. And
having good points. This also required to have basic understanding of text and
how to write it.
For Reading- Reading is really Important in order to score high. It needed
concentration and understanding.
1. MCQs and fill in the blanks - In order to get high score one should daily
read news papers and magazines. Which will definitely help. In MCQs use
elimination method. And have basic understanding of grammar.
2. Follow the elimination method in MCQs as its easy to find out the wrong
answer and eliminate it first.
3. Read for purpose.
For listening - listening is just piece of cake if you are full with concentration and
endurance. Here you need to be bit meticulous so that you can anticipate and correct
them care fully.

1. Repeat sentence, Re-tell lecture, highlight summary and others.

Make notes while doing any of listening task. Don't write everything, write that
which is key to the answers.
Sheer determination, perseverance, endurance, vitality and meticulousness is key to
success in PTE.

Best of luck!!

Securing good marks in each module is rather challenging, yet its achievable by following
and practicing with right techniques and research.

For example,

1.Speaking:

Many folks believe that describe image in speaking gives more points. Its untrue as
repeat sentence is the one which awards you almost half marks from the speaking
section. 6070 out of 130 points with 1012 questions.

2.Reading:

Majority of my friends were spending most of the time in MCQs in reading part which is
a abolute blunder. If you do so, you will loose time and will not be able to attend higher
marked questions in later sections ( fill in the blanks - 50 marks with 10 questions).

Like this, there are more than 10 top techniques and tips to easily crack PTE with not
only 79+, but with 90. Believe me, because, its my personal experience.
Finally, its not necessary to have superior english to score 65 or 79 or 90 in PTE, you are
required to be educated when and where to use key techniques to score higher in each
modules

So youre gearing up to take the Pearson Test of English, right? If youre, you need a
rigorous preparation based on the current test formats and guidelines.

The best way to gather information and study materials from the Pearson itself. Apart
from that, you will find numerous resources online for preparation, but, should be
bought from the reliable vendors approved by PTE. Another reliable way for preparation
is taking PTE coaching from a credible institute.

Besides, you need to give special attention on developing your speaking, writing, reading,
and listening skills. Dont forget to enhance your skills like grammar, vocabulary,
spelling, oral fluency, written discourse, and time management.

Practice taking mock tests online on the popular kits to measure your improvement in all
fronts. It will help you get the desired score in the PTE test.

Getting good scores in PTE depends on 2 things -

1. Having good command over English Speaking/Writing/Reading/Listening

2. Practice of PTE exam format and equip yourself with right tips/strategies for
performing under exam conditions (limited time/stress/sufficient focus/good
use of short term memory)
How to do it -

1. For English - Assuming that you already know the language, you can refer
some good grammar books to have a quick revision of basic grammar
structures and focus on the weaknesses you have identified during revision e.g.
using tenses, clauses etc
2. For Practice -
a. buy sample questions and practices at Welcome - PTE Academic
b. for learning tips/tricks for mastering the PTE format - There are several videos

I am not familiar with the PTE format at all, however I just want to add general tips
about improving competitive English.

1. Magoosh have great tutorials and tips for learning words and vocab, and much of the
resources are free.

2. Vocabulary.com has progressive tests for checking your acquaintances with words.
You might want to practice it daily, as it will unconsciously make you familiar with many
words.

3. Practice with appropriately sized texts, read magazine and news articles on specialized
topics and learn to speed-read without looking up dictionary often. It is a useful skill if
you can guess the meaning of words in-situ without referring to a thesaurus.

4. Do not leave writing practice for the end of the preparation. In fact, take it at least
along with vocabulary, although i recommend get a good grasp of vocabulary before
starting your simultaneous writing-cum-vocabulary practice. It helps you include words
you recently learnt in your essays/articles, and also helps you see how you are
progressing through your written pieces.

There are plethora of free resources available on the internet to help you prepare for the
pte test. However, not all of these resources are helpful.

I know this because of my own journey. I need 8 points in all 4 skill areas to qualify for
immigration to Australia. I have attempted PTE thrice. Although, I have done quiet well
in listening and reading, I failed to achieve the required score in speaking and by a a
thread in writing.

The problem is not all resources on the internet or in PTE books are helpful.

There are not sufficient blogs that explain in detail what is the format of responses
expected by PTE for speaking and writing. Most blogs just contain the same bullet points
repeated over and over again with no new information.

However, I have found one blog PTE Preparation Blog - Get Free Tips & Strategiesthat
provide free and better content than any other blog, video or book that you can buy.

I have read all the articles relating to speaking and writing questions types and I now
know what I have been doing wrong. Furthermore, I feel confident to achieve my target
score in the next test.

Now about practice test. Well, I have attempted free practice tests of all free practice test
providers on the internet.

Again, the questions for most item types are not at all what you get in the actual test.

Furthermore, regardless of what they tell you, none of the test behaves like actual PTE
test.

Moreover, most use the same software except for ptemocktest.com. I havent
checked pte-preparation.com software but it does seem different prom pics that they
provide on their website. However, they dont provide free practice tests therefore I am
unable to provide a review on their practice test.

I hope this review was helpful and I hope it helps you not make the ame mistakes as me.

Just like any other examination, PTE requires lot of preparation and practice. The
success mantra to crack the PTE test and score good marks is to set your goals and then
work hard to achieve them.

Set Your Goals- The first and foremost step to start your preparation is to set your
goals. Before you do that, you need to understand what you wish to achieve. Break the
goals into smaller sections so that you can be specific in your final goals. Once you have
set your goals, it will help you formulate strategies and plan how to achieve those.

Measurable Be sure you set measurable goals and set time parameters to complete
those. In addition to your measuring goals, you must also take steps to complete the
smaller goals before you reach to the ultimate goal. Considering how much time you can
invest, you should always set goals which are achievable and measurable.

Read newspapers everyday aloud. Yes! Aloud. By reading so, you can improve your
vocabulary as well as English fluency. Try to understand the meaning of all the words
which you dont understand with the help of a dictionary. It will help you improve your
skills in English. Watch BBC news and try to understand what they say. At first, it might
be harder but then with practice it becomes with ease. Also practice all the 4 practice
tests again and again. If possible, try taking mock tests if you are going to some coaching
centre. Also, there are a lot of exercises in YouTube in all the four skill section. Try to
practice it too. This will all help you in scoring good marks in PTE exam.

Good Luck! I guess this helps.

PTE is different for everyone, depending on your weak areas. Focus not on copying
someones strategies but

1. figure out your problem areas

2. learn high-scoring techniques for those areas.
3. give more time to your weak sections
4. dont be in a hurry, spend time. it takes good amount of learning from good
trainer and taking scored mock tests to actually confidently book your test and
get the desired score in the first attempt.
This is my score after training with the only internationally certified PTE trainer, based
in India.

Remember if only practice worked then everyone would get a good score. Solving the
materials on your own is a mistake, pls dont do that alone.

I filed my Expression of Interest, got my assessments done, and because of my high PTE
score got an invite within 3 months. I finally got my PR and now all set for a life in

I needed 65 plus in PTE academic for immigrating to Australia. Since, I have studied
from Hindi medium I was finding it very difficult to score 65 in all four sections. I did try
out a few tutors in Australia and India but it was of no help. I ended up wasting a lot of
money around 70k and appeared for 8 times in PTE. After speaking to couple of my
friends who were able to clear the PTE, suggested me to take online one to one sessions
from Home (Home). They charged me 800 AUD for the entire course. After training,
they gave me 10 mock exams which were very difficult compared to PTE. Finally in my
eighth attempt I scored, listening 80, Reading 65, Speaking 76, writing 72. They didnt
teach me English but made me focus on particular question types which fetch more
marks. Also, they were also quite flexible in terms of class timings as I work in shifts.

The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is computer and How 'hard' the
test is will depend on the scores you require for your chosen university or college and
your English ability, of course!

Make sure you do some prep first. Lots of info on the websites:

Prepare for PTE Academic - the fast English test

FREE PTE Academic Preparation - Pearson

At the very least, I would recommend the online tutorial.

Sometimes, the best way to prepare for a test is to join a class and receive tuition face-to-
face. All around the world there are private language schools who run PTE Academic
preparation courses. These range from intensive week-long courses, to courses that last
for up to six months.

PTE is an easier exam because it is more interactive than IELTS.

Hope this info. may be useful.

How good your actual English language skills are.

How well you practice, prepare and make use of strategies to answer different

Both these factors are important for a good score. If you lag behind in any of them, it will
reflect in your exam scores. Better if you go through the PTE paper pattern and
understand question asked in each section along with the final score that you required.

Ishan Tiwari, Tax professional

Updated Nov 16, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am Ishan and I work for a big consulting firm (as a tax professional) and I prepared for
my pte exam in just 6 days. Also, I know my scores are not that great but I just wanna
share my views for those who are planning to study abroad..As, to get admission in
majority of the universities like in Australia, caneda, U.S. we need to score total of 58 and
a minimum of 50 in all the section of the exam. When I got an conditional offer letter
from one of the university from Australia I got to know about this exam as I wanted to
get instant result because I got the offer letter for February intake with scholarship, so
booked this course really quick almost in 6 days so let me me share some of my thoughts
for the same.
Those who say that PTE is easy compared to IELTS I don't at all agree as the

format it self is quite different and PTE is quite intense And the reading section
is going to be crazy if you don't have a grip on grammar then it better not to
take this test as the whole section itself is of 32 min loads with questions. Now
coming for the quick remedy that is the various tricks needed for each section ;
Speaking:- concentrate on re-tell lecture and describe image as the bulk
amount of marks are depended on these activities go to E-
2 http://langague.com there are hell loads of videos which has insane tricks
which is brilliant I felt.
Writing:- again go to E-2 langague in YouTube as it has the technique for both
summarize text and essay.
Reding:- this is the most intense and challenging section as I mentioned earlier
you don't have time even to breath as you will be definitely running out of time
if your crammer and vocabulary is not upto the mark . work on the basic as the
is the principal part.
Listening:- get used to canedian, american,Australian accent as it really requires
hell lot of attention as if you lack this its going to be very challenging for you.
So, I hope it will make sense to you guyz as it's not a wise decision to spent 11,000 bucks
if you think its going to be a peace of cake as it really needs a proper planning and
sufficient techniques to reach the place where you want to be.

Please, feel free to contact me if you want any help regarding the proper planning and
resources which you need to clear this exam in a week as it feels good when you get
involve with the success of others.

Ali Mohsin, I have attempted the PTE Academic last week and got 77+ in all sections
Updated Nov 15, 2016
Originally Answered: How can I get a 75 in the PTE?
Few tips which I followed and got the desired result.

1. Each section and question type has a strategy to solve. If you understand, how
to solve a particular type of question you can score.
2. Try to do 2-3 sample tests in one go and this will familiarize you with the test.
3. Read Aloud: Try to be calm while speaking. Take care of commas (stop for a
second on a comma) Try to put a pressure on words like However, but, hence,
therefore, etc)
4. Describe Image: During the preparation time, write down 57 words (Not
sentences) which you think are the key features e.g. for a Building shown in a
picture, color of the building, height in terms of long or storeys, building
nearby, sky with or without clouds if shown.. etc and during speaking just use
those words in the sentences of your natural language.
a. Describing Tables/Graphs: Again, try not to memorize the numbers.
Quickly note down three trends in a chart. Lowest value, Highest Value and the
trend (whether the graph is going down or up or is moderate). Start with telling
what is being shown? (A pie chart, A bar graph, a spreadsheet, a table, etc).
Keywords for describing charts/tables are: Trend, highest, lowest, average,
moderate, proportion, slices (pie charts), stable, high, low, followed by, next to,
higher than, lower than etc. DO NOT STOP TALKING UNTIL THE TIME
RUNS OUT!
5. Repeat Sentence: Do not try to copy the accent or style of the speaker and
even if you dont remember the word he/she said in the sentence dont panic
simply say a word which you remember or a word which sound like the word
you dont remember (Yes! any word which sound like the word you dont
remember, I have tried this!!!). DO NOT STOP TALKING!
6. Essay Writing: Essay topics on PTE Exam repeat :) Read this blog: This guy
struggled a lot passing the PTE exam and he has written all the essays for the
topics which keep on repeating. The essays will give you a fair idea of what PTE
is looking for in your essay. Link (PTE Academic Essay Questions and
Ideas )
7. Once you are comfortable and think you can attempt the real test. Buy a mock
test from Pearson's website ($35) and attempt it. It is a scored test and will let
you know if you are ready for the real thing or not!
All the best.

PTE is very easy to clear, you can easily score desired points if you do your preparation
logically. I gave PTE examination almost 2 months ago and started my preparation 10
days prior to examination . What i knew about myself is that my english is not that good,
but didnt want to go for coaching classes, so I went through all the videos on youtube
available for PTE and IELTS examination, and practiced with them, there is one channel
named E2PTE very helpful. Now, offcourse your english will not get better in just 10
days, but what i noticed while watching those videos that there are some mistakes which
should be avoided while giving the examination like, trying to speak in foreign accent
may lead to deduction of points which most were doing when I was giving the
examination, also in writing section punctuations are very important(with which i always
suffer), there should be a connection between your paragraphs, and your writing should
be coherent enough for the reader. So, just focussing on all these type of numerous
points I prepared myself and gave examination with full confidence, when i got my result
it was unexpected for me, got overall score 66( S-59, R-62, W-73, L-72).

What I learned from this examination. (1) Is that you need not to be a very good in
english to clear PTE, IELTS or TOEFL with decent marks, points or band, all they check
is whether you are comfortable with english or not. (2) Smart work pays well when you
have less time.

I believe there are many nice articles already there to answer your question.
In my opinion, you should start with understanding the test go through at, time that will
be allocated to each of the modules, way in which the points will be given in each module
and sections in which you have the negative marking.

Once you are clear with the test format, go through some videos on internet which guide
you on how you should prepare to answer different sections/questions in PTE.

After preparation, learning the strategy and methods to crack, go for a mock test.

With a mock test you will definitely have benefits, it's gonna be 35$, but would be worth
spending. Since the mock test is an exact replica of actual test, this experience will surely
help you to crack the test in first attempt, you will unearth all your weak areas with the
mock test and will have a chance to improve.

Hope this information helps!!

I believe that before starting any kind of preparation related to PTE, you should analyze
your skills, like which sections need more practice and study, where you have a better
chance of scoring. Once you take a mock test, you can note down the points and prepare
the sections accordingly, while giving more time to sections that need better preparation.
You can find a number of websites for complete mock tests, but if my personal self is
included i would recommend ptemocktest.com, these guys have full tests accordingly to
PTE standards with free score cards upon evaluation which not many are providing as
well they are real cheap under $4, so its always a nice tool to practice and gain the

Guys:

Lots of things are been shared hear and thanks to all who posted it. It really helped me to
clear my PTE.

Couple of points I would like to make here:

Refer appropriate material as plenty is available online to misguide you and

give you falls impressing that your English is good.
E2langauge helped me a lot to master the methods and most importantly learn
and developed the skills. Believe me you will be tested one or other way on
skills in PTE.
Navjot, Ashishs and other blogs also helped me a lot.
End of day PTE will test your English skills so dont think that you will pass just by
practicing 100s of questions for each task.

Focus on fundamental rather than shortcuts to pass the exam. E2langauge helped me a
lot here as they go from very fundamental.

I understand many of you are in hurry but language cant be learn in hurry and PTE is
set to catch all your weak points.

I would say PTE books and material is somewhat outdated as actual PTE difficulty level
is FAR above it.

Closest material from PTE is their mock test. General perception is that mock test level is
tougher than actual PTE. It is not. Dont think that you will get 5-7 points bump in actual
PTE over mock test score. Actual PTE is much different and somewhat harder, though
give you planty of opportunity to score as well.

Bets way to clear PTE is build the skills and practice the methods with at equivalent
material. E2language has plenty of material to practice and its at par with actual PTE.
All the best!!

calm, composed and mindfull during the exam. Keeps speaking, listen carefully and read
smoothly n clearly and rest will follow. Anyone who is confident can easily score 63+.

Buy a book- PTE academic Rs. 700 either online or from any store. It was helpful and it
comes with couple of CDs which will give u a very clear idea of what u r gonna face. B
bold.. keep smiling..

Speaking seems most difficult section and hard to clear in PTE but it is not about you
know good english or not. Its about techniques which can make you score even 90 in
speaking. With my 3attempts in PTE I am now well aware how one can succeed in
speaking with minimum efforts. I came across a fabulous trick which can sharply
increase your speaking score . Contact me on : kapoormeenu352@gmail.com with your

I see that there is a post about Veracity mentors here. My sincere request is please dont
join them. Konika is the one who is handling PTE, she bluffs a lot telling that internet is
not working. She will take Describe Image today, for the next two days you will receive a
mail telling that Internet is not working. Again in the next class she will add few more
students, and start from Describe Image again.

She is one mentor who will just give a damn to her students money. I personally joined
them and felt my money wasted.

PS This is not only my review, all the students who attended with me has the same view.
I am just a representative of them.
