Vice Chancellors Outstanding Alumni Awards 2016

Process and Criteria

Nomination process
Nominate yourself or someone you know. Nominations may be made by staff, graduates, honorary graduates, students or other members
of the community.
The following people are not eligible for an award: serving members of Anglia Ruskin staff (however previous employees can be
nominated); Vice Chancellors Outstanding Alumni Awards selection panel members and posthumous nominations.
All nominations must be made using the official nomination form, and must be signed and dated.
The Judging Panel will make the decision based on the evidence contained in the form alone.
The nominator must provide a statement of no more than 600 words describing the qualities and contributions that make the nominee a
worthy recipient of an award. The statement should demonstrate how the nominees contribution has made a difference within their
chosen profession or within the community, why they are worthy of special recognition.
Entries will be judged on the responses to the criteria in the award description.
A judging panel, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, will select the winners.
Individuals selected will receive their awards at the Vice Chancellors Outstanding Alumni Awards celebration, on Wednesday 7 December
2016, and are encouraged to be present to receive the awards. Awards can be made in absentia.
Collaborative nominations are permissible and encouraged. However, there should only be one lead nominator.
Information provided in the nomination form may be used for publicity purposes, including social media and our alumni e-magazine.

Judging Process
The closing date for nominations is 23.59 GMT on Friday 21 October.
Alumni Office to verify all nominations are graduates of Anglia Ruskin/one of our predecessor institutions.
Judging panel to receive all the nominations by 9am on Wednesday 26 October. Judges asked to rank the nominees prior to the Judging
Panel.
The Judging Panel is going to meet to decide on the winners and runners-up on Monday 31 October. If the panel is unable to agree the
Vice Chancellor will make the final decision.

The statement, of 600 words or less, must include evidence of how the nominee meets the criteria and include any honours, awards,
