DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

LESSON PLAN

Subject Name Computer Aided Design Branch Mechanical Engineering

Year /
Subject code ME6501 III B.E. / V Semester
Semester
Name of the faculty Mr. S.SABAREESAN Faculty Code ME 71

Objective:

To provide an overview of how computers are being used in mechanical component design.

Course objective:
The student will gain knowledge on the Study of computer graphics and apply design and drawing concepts
to the CAE problems under various conditions.

Programme Educational Objectives :

Our mechanical engineering graduates will be successful professionals with a commitment to quality,
performance, society, environment, country, safety and ethics when discharging duties as engineers,
managers, researchers and administrators.
Graduates will have a successful career in mechanical engineering or related fields in industry, academia and
other organizations throughout the world where an engineering approach to get familiarised with the
computer graphic application in design.

Programme Outcomes:
Graduates will demonstrate the ability to design a system or process to meet desired needs within applied
constraints such as economic, environmental, social, ethical, safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
Graduates will demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge acquired in softwares related to mechanical
engineering to meet the specifications and requirements with economy at reduced lead time.
Graduates will demonstrate the ability to identify, formulate, and solve mechanical engineering problems.

Course Outcomes:
The students can able to use computer and CAD software's for Modeling of mechanical components.
The students imparted knowledge on apply design and drawing concepts to the CAE problems under
various conditions.
