Amazon UK primarily alleged of depriving their temporary staff of their benefits through deliberate

layoffs in due time. This action of gaining cost advantage in the expense of their staff entitlements
may draw great outcry employee rights according to labour law.

The oppression on working conditions such as constant monitoring through GPS on tracking their
working performance. There was an atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion, with handheld scanners
tracking workers' whereabouts, plus CCTV cameras monitoring the warehouse, and airport-style
security checks. This may create undue pressure to employees and even nightmarish production
outcome with the rigid enforcement.

Further, employees are alleged to be penalised on taking sick leaves, leaving early or long toilet
breaks. Almost all employers operate absence management and sickness procedures that are aimed
at managing and keeping sickness absence to an acceptable level. Serious ethical issues that result in
intolerable conditions such as limited compulsory break hours go against the labour laws of
international standards in view of their demanding responsibilities. Workers also faced disciplinary
action if they were deemed to have taken too long during bathroom breaks.

The action of penalising employees of taking sick leaves, toilet breaks and short rest hours for
enhanced performance is outrageously despicable in exploiting employee productivity and spring
out greater human right issues.
