Who should attend

The seminars are designed for individuals whose professions are in the field and/or related to engineering
maintenance and management, construction, geodetic, mining and material science, chemical
engineering and other allied engineering fields. Technical personnel whose line of work is engineering-
related or any person who is interested in a specific topic may also attend. Each course description
identifies the target participants of a particular seminar.

How to Register
Advance submission of registration form and payment of seminar fee are required.

Because of limited slots, participants are encouraged to register and pay as early as possible. Slots will
be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

To reserve a seat
Step 1. Fill out and submit the online registration form (found beside each course description).
Alternatively, you may download our Registration Form, and fax the completed form to (632) 929-1710.
Step 2. We will send you an email acknowledgment the next business day, to inform you if there is still
space available.
If you dont receive an email acknowledgment, please call us immediately at 927-1581, 929-1710 and/or
981-8500 locals 3005, 3004, 3048.

Step 3. Once you are sure that a seat is available, please pay. See Payment.

Course Fees
Course fees are listed in Philippine pesos beside each course description.

Fees include a certificate, course materials, use of equipment (in hands-on classes), plus lunch and AM
and PM snacks on class days. Participants from out of town, or from abroad, are responsible for travel
and lodging expenses. See also Accommodations.

Payment
Deliver the payment to our Admin office at Room 206. We accept cash and check, in case of check
please make it payable to the University of the Philippines Diliman. We prefer Managers Check.
Company checks will be subjected to a 3-day clearing time. Bank deposit/payment is not allowed.

Those who will avail of the early bird discount may come to our office and pay a month before the
scheduled seminar.

Note: To avoid losing your seat to another registrant, we advise you pay as early as possible.

Discounts
5% Early Bird discount: For those who pay the seminar fee one full month before the first day of the
course.
5% Group Discount: For groups of five who enroll in a course from the same company.
Note: Participants may only avail one type of discount per seminar.

If you must cancel your registration:

* Five or more business days prior to the course, the fee is fully refundable.
* Less than five business days before the course, confirmed participants are liable for the entire fee.

Occasionally, we are forced to cancel a class because of low enrollment or emergencies. Confirmed
participants have the option to either attend the same seminar on its rescheduled date, OR attend
another course with the same registration fee OR request for the return of his/her registration fee. There
will be no refund.

Our Lecturers
Our pool of resource persons are composed of Faculty members from the U.P. College of Engineering
and practicing professional engineers from the engineering industry.

Instructor Replacement
On rare occasions, a listed instructor is unable to teach a class due to an unscheduled professional
assignment. If this happens, we will replace the instructor with someone of equivalent credentials or
revised the seminar course program. In the event we cannot secure a substitute, the class can be
rescheduled or cancelled.

Accommodations
For participants from out of town or from overseas, please see link for on-campus accommodations. We
can email you a list and brochure of these hotels/hostels, but you will have to make your own bookings.

Special Meals
Lunch and snacks on class days are provided by UP NEC. If you have special dietary restrictions, let us
know and we shall do our best to accommodate them.

Class Hours
Class hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. Please check in 15 minutes early on the first day. Lunch and snacks
are provided. The training facility opens at 8 AM and closes at 6 PM on class days, to give you more time
to work on hands-on exercises and projects.

Policies
UP NEC is strictly a no smoking facility.

Schedules may change without prior notice.

Audio or video recording of seminars and workshops is not permitted.

Materials
Only hard copies of the seminar kit will be provided.
