Re: Canvassers Circulating Recall Petitions

Dear Mr. Silberkraus and Mesdames Roth and Castor:

We write to alert you to what we perceive as behavior by recall petition canvassers that
runs afoul of N.R.S. Chapter 306. It has come to our attention that certain canvassers have
engaged in tactics and behaviors that are not only undemocratic but clearly illegal.

We have received numerous reports by constituents that certain canvassers have engaged
in:

(1) Harassment: Aggressively refusing to leave constituents homes after being asked
to do so (I was outside of my home talking to a neighbor when a canvasser asked
us whether we wanted to discuss politics and later discussed the petition to
recall Senator Woodhouse she was circulating. I told the canvasser that I did not
want to discuss the recall, and politely asked her to leave. The canvasser asked
why I didnt want to sign the petition, to which I responded that I did not need to
justify my reason to decline signing the petition. At this point, the canvasser
became argumentative, and again I told her to please leave. After three requests to
leave, she finally left. Constituent in Senate District 5);

(2) Misrepresentation regarding the Senators political views and/or voting records
(On September 17, 2017, when my husband and I answered the door, the
canvassers opening pitch was that Senator Cannizzaro is pocketing money from
her constituents, although he did not say how, and that he was circulating a
petition to recall the senator. Constituent in Senate District 6);

(3) Misrepresentation of the recall effort entirely: Many reports are now arriving that
your canvassers are attempting to fraudulently convince voters into believing the

petitions they are being asked to sign are, in fact, anti-recall petitions in support of
the senators (See Carrie Kaufman, KNPRs State of Nevada Host/Producer,
Facebook post)

We hereby demand that your canvassers immediately cease in engaging in the described
conduct herein; otherwise we will be forced to take such further legal action as the situation
warrants, including holding you accountable for the actions of these canvassers as agents of the
recall effort and the committees you set up to support them.
