5. Course Description (catalog description):


Introduces the fundamentals of manufacturing processes, including casting, forming,
welding, and machining operations. Covers economics of metal cutting and statistical
quality control. Introduces basics of non-metals manufacturing and other contemporary
topics in manufacturing

1. Select manufacturing processes.
2. Define metal-casting processes and equipment.
3. Describe metal forming processes and related equipment.
4. Demonstrate material-removal processes.
5. Describe the joining processes.
6. Evaluate the basics of economics of metal cutting.
7. Identify the non-traditional machining processes.
8. Demonstrate familiarity with statistical quality control
