HOUSE RULES IN ENGLISH 9 CLASS


Academic Year 2017-2018

I. ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY

a. Late comer/s is/are still allowed to come in class. 5 minutes after checking of attendance is
considered late. 3 late is equivalent to 1 absent.
b. Excuse is only considered if there are valid reasons in times of absent such a hospitalization,
death of immediate family member and alike. An excuse letter must be presented with a valid
I.D written by either the parent or the guardian affixed his/her signature as the sender.
Otherwise, it is not excuse.
c. If you have an outside affair representing our school, you must present an excuse letter at least a
day before the said event duly signed by the authorized teacher-in-charge. Failure to do so is
considered absent.
d. Cutting class is equivalent to 2 absent. It is considered as a cutting class if the student is
physically present or within the school vicinity but fail to attend English class.
e. Each quarter, the students are assigned to his/her proper seating arrangement, not in proper
place will be considered absent.
f. Attendance per quarter is equivalent to a quiz.

II. COURSE REQUIREMENT

a. Each grading period has a desired project to submit. The following are the expected projects; 1st
Grading- 3rd Grading: Culminating Activities which includes Differentiated Tasks, Portfolio,
Explosive Box, Big Book, Literary Review/Analysis, Book Review/Analysis and 4 th Grading:
Theatrical Performances.
b. Submission of requirement such as project and alike must be on time, but in case of late it will be
considered and accepted but with 5-pt. deduction per day after the deadline.
c. Failure to submit the requirement is tantamount to 0 in the component of project which falls in
written and performance works.
d. There are 4 notebooks in English Class. One ordinary notebook for Lecture/Assignment/Tasks
covered with a chosen color and plastic. One big notebook which will be their Journal Notebook
covered with their picture, chosen color and plastic. Cattleya Filler (chosen color) for
Quiz/Seatwork/Teacher-Made Tests. One small notebook for Reading Passport/Diary/Reflection.
e. Each student will provide their students records at the back of his/her notebook as for
reference. Following the format:

f. Notebooks will be submitted on the day of the quarter test. All records must be summarized and
duly singed by the student and his/her leader. This must be the same/uniform in the group record.
g. The leader of the group is required to provide a group record for the compilation of all activities in
the class such as assignment, lecture, activity, task, project, attendance and recitation.
h. The group record will be submitted at least a day or on the quarter test. It must be covered with
chosen color and plastic.
i. Learning Module in Anglo-American Literature should always be brought or borrow to other
classes during English Class. Failure to do so will be given a 5-pt deduction in the Recitation.

III. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

a. Always maintain the cleanliness of the classroom.


b. Chairs must be properly arranged.
c. Listen to others and participate in class discussions.

d. Respect all ideas given in class and do not criticize anybody's ideas or thoughts.
e. Dont talk when somebody is explaining/discussing.
f. Raise your hand if you want to say something.
g. Inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited.
h. Always come to class PREPARED.

IV. EXAMINATION

A. Announced
1. It is expected that every after lesson, unit and chapter there is an evaluation.
2. Monthly examination is administered in the end of the month or on the first meeting of the
next month covering all the lessons discussed in the concerned month.
3. Teacher Test is administered before the Periodic Examination covering all the lessons in a
particular quarter.
4. Periodic Test is administered on the scheduled date.

*Failure to the take the test on the scheduled date requires a letter of explanation duly
singed by the student, parent or guardian and/or adviser.
B. Unannounced
1. If the class is noisy, unordered and messy.
2. If nobody tries to answer my question for the third time during the class discussion.
3. All type of test is essay form.

V. GRADING CRITERIA
