 Preface
There are those who give little of the much which they have -
and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.
And there are those who have little and give it all.
These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.
There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.
And there are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism.
And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue;
They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. In the Autumn, we traditionally
give thanks while our leaves turn beautiful and then fallin preparation for the lovely white winter and the
rebirth in the Spring.

In our family, there are a number of confluent events in October, and it is generally a time where Aunt Diana
gets to decorate and costume family members and have pahties (as my Dad used to call them) chez Carla. And
this year, with Carlas deteriorating health, we are grabbing any excuse for visits. Her leaves are especially
beautiful this year

So this is the tale of the most recent gathering, and has three separate main events:

Zackos Senior Soccer Game In which Zacko enjoins all
friends and family to forego
Senior Graduation in favor of
attending his last soccer
game of high school.

And in which Zacko, who has

learned never to do that
again, is embarrassed in
every possible way before,
during and after the game.

Alexanders Birthday Party In which Alexander, a person
who plays hidden object
games with NO hints, is given
a live hidden object game for
his birthday with relatives
dressed in very frightening
costumes, and major costly
snafus occur.

Halloween In which Martina Gabrielle

Nyland Brown gets her wish
of becoming the scariest
creature in Middle Earth.

And in which Aunt Diana,

gamely hobbling along
For the ride despite hurt
knee, foregoes witch
costume in favor of being
Percy the cat. Using
eyeshadow for face paint.
Eyeshadow that melted into
smears of black. La.

But of course, in these tales, half the fun is in the getting there, so the first chapter will cover the various
