Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
The activities prior to the SRT activity will be Brain Pop videos, to introduce the unit. The entire class will be
split up into different countries that played a critical role during the war at the beginning of the unit. During
this unit students will be expected to create a propaganda poster as well as learn about the United States role

in the war as well as the causes of WWII. Students will be reading Number the Stars and other books that
relate to WWII. The class will also participate in a rationing activity. They will also debate whether or not
dropping the bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima was justified.

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: (What will the students do? What will the
teacher do? What materials are needed? How long with the activity last?) The SRT activity will be considered
a summative assessment. During the assessment students will be answers the questions with a tablet or
laptop that will be proved for them. The assessment is a teacher paced assessment, so the teacher controls
the allotted time for each question.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the SRT activity is done, the class will come together and start a new unit. This SRT activity was used as a
summative assessment.
How will the data be used?
The data that is collected from this activity will allow the teacher to determine if the student passed or
failed the social studies unit. Each student will be awarded a grade for their scores form this assessment. The

results will be collected and set aside to monitor each student and their improvement in social studies. I will
use this data to determine who passed or failed the unit. The test will be differentiated by allowing the ESL
students extra time to complete the assessment.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.


My personal learning goal with this activity is to become more familiar with classroom tools like clickers. I
hope to learn from this activity an easier way to access and monitor students progress throughout the year.
