Skraenice, koje potiu iz latinskog jezika a esto su u upotrebi u engleskom jeziku su:

Skraenice i akronimi u engleskom jeziku

Teko da ima nekoga na netu ko ne zna ta znai LOL (Laughing Out Loud - smejem se
naglas).

O latinskim skraenicama u engleskom jeziku sam ve pisala u prethodnom postu.


Engleski jezik je prepun skraenica i akronima i nisu sve skraenice latinskog porekla.

Skraenice = abbreviations su veoma este u engleskom jeziku. Koriste se, da bi se duge


rei i kombinacije rei bre i efikasnije koristile u pisanoj komunikaciji.
Recimo OK ili Mr. su skraenice, koje odavno izale iz okvira engleskog jezika i imaju
internacionalnu primenu.

Tu su i dobro poznate skraenice tipa FAQ, btw i sl.

Podvrsta skraenica su akronimi acronyms.

Ako od jedne fraze ili izraza uzmemo samo poetna slova, spojimo ih u novu re onda
dobijamo akronim. esto te rei toliko zaive same za sebe da veina ljudi i ne zna da su
u pitanju akronimi.
