Games Schedule and Mechanics

GAME MECHANICS

General Instructions: All members will be divided into three teams with equal
numbers of each member type; each team will be assigned a
specific color (red/yellow/blue) as their team color for the
whole event; each team should come up with a team name
related to the induction theme; team members are required
to participate in all activities except for: kitchen people, sick
people, PWDs, pregnant women and games committee heads.
Teams with the most points will be awarded first place and so
on.
I. Watawat kong mahal (Flag/Banner Making)
Time Allotted: 20 minutes
Materials Needed:
Banner in Teams Colors Flag Pole?/Balloon Stick?
Paint/Paint Brushes
Mechanics:
i. Each team will be issued a banner in their specific color, paint
and paint brushes, and a pole to hang their banner on.
ii. Each team will be given 15 minutes to device a name and logo
that is related to the teams colors as well as the theme:
PISTANG NAYON
iii. After the allotted time, each team will display their banners for
judging.
iv. All banners must be kept safe and guarded for the duration of
the team building. Banners found neglected will be confiscated
and deductions will be given to teams found neglecting their
banners.
v. Only games committee members are allowed to confiscate team
banners.
vi. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
II. Pagyari ng San Juanico (The Tower)
Time Allotted: 45 minutes
Materials Needed:
Isaw/Fishball Sticks 3 pks Cotton balls
3 rolls Teflon Tape Measuring Tape
Different Colored Straws Matchbox Cars
6 pcs Juice boxes
Mechanics:
i. Each team will be given 2 pcs Juice boxes to act as their islands
ii. Each team will be given the same amount of sticks, straws and
cotton balls as well as a roll of Teflon tape at the start of the
activity.
iii. Each team will be given 30 minutes to build a bridge of their
choice provided they meet the following criteria: length,
creativity, and strength.
iv. During the duration of the activity, the moderators will be
offering deals for building materials in exchange for specific
numbers and/or types of clothing. The exchange will only be
open for 1 minute otherwise the deal will be forfeited.
v. After the allotted time, each team will exhibit their
finished/unfinished bridges for examination of the judges.
vi. Each bridge will be measured for length and tested for strength
and durability by the judges.
vii. Each category will have its corresponding number of points
viii. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
III. Pinakamahabang Hanay (Longest Line)
Time Allotted: 15 minutes
Materials Needed:
Clothes and accessories of the members at hand
Mechanics:
i. Each team will have 5 minutes to create the longest line
possible using clothes/accessories/items found on their bodies
not including their actual bodies and body parts.
ii. The length of the remaining items not utilized during the
Pagyari ng San Juanico activity will be deducted from their
final length.
iii. The team that formed the longest line wins the activity.
iv. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
IV. Pagsusulit sa Lawa (Underwater Quiz Bee)
Time Allotted: 45 minutes
Materials Needed:
Swimming Pool
Mechanics:
i. All team members must be inside the pool (forming a line if
possible) for the duration of the activity.
ii. A different member from each team will represent the team for
each round of the activity. Each team member must represent
the team only once.
iii. Team representatives will occupy the space in front of the game
moderator.
iv. The moderator will ask the same question from the question
bank to all representatives. Questions will either be in the
following categories: easy, medium, and difficult.
v. Each category will have corresponding points. Easy 1 pt;
Medium 3 pts; Difficult 5 pts.
vi. Before answering the question, team representatives must hold
their breath underwater. The person who held their breath
longest will have the chance to answer the question first.
vii. A correct answer will entitle the team corresponding points,
however, if the answer is incorrect, the representative who was
the 2nd longest to hold their breath has the chance to steal and
so forth.
viii. The team who earns the most points wins the game.
ix. In the event of a tie, the team will pick their best representative
for a sudden death round. Winning the sudden death round will
entitle the team 15 extra points.
x. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
V. Mga Palabas Pampiyesta (Cheering Competition)
Time Allotted: 45 minutes
Materials Needed:
Performance Space Swimming Pool
Team Banner
Mechanics:
i. A team representative will randomly pick a Philippine festival
performance for their team.
ii. Each team will be given 15 minutes to create a 35 minute
cheer number/performance based on their type of festival
performance.
iii. Each cheer should include the team name, team color, as well
as the team banner.
iv. Team performance areas will be to the teams preference and
will be communicated to the judges before the start of their
performance.
v. All teams should include a pool scene where at least one (1)
biological female and one (1) biological male should be inside
the pool.
vi. At least one (1) lift should be included in the performance for
each team.
vii. There will be no background music that will be played during the
performance.
viii. Winners will be announced by the judges after the activity.
ix. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
VI. Sayaw sa Trapal (XXXL Tarpaulin Dance)
Time Allotted: 20 minutes
Materials Needed:
Tarpaulin Duct Tape
Music
Mechanics:
i. Each team will be given one large tarpaulin big enough to fit the
whole team.
ii. When the music starts, team members are required to dance
around the tarpaulin. Teams with members not dancing will be
given deductions.
iii. When the music stops, teams should fit all members inside the
tarpaulin. They can use any technique or strategy. Lifts are
permitted.
iv. Should there be any body part or member of the team found
outside the tarpaulin, the team is disqualified.
v. After each successful round, the tarpaulin will be folded in half,
and the game continues until there is only one team left.
vi. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
VII. Talong Relay sa Kursong may Balakid (Talong Relay with Obstacle Course)
Time Allotted: 60 minutes
Materials Needed:
3 pcs Eggplant 15 pcs Poker Chips
String Items to use as obstacles
Native Ball Swimming Pool
Mechanics:
i. Poker Chips will be scattered at the bottom of the swimming
pool. Each team should send one (1) representative to fish out
five (5) chips in exchange for their eggplant, string, and ball.
The rest of the members will wait forming a line at the start of
the obstacle course.
ii. The team member at the front of the line should tie the string
with the eggplant on their waist. Other team members are
allowed to help.
iii. The first person should guide their ball through the obstacle
course and shoot the ball through the goal at the end.
iv. After finishing the obstacle course, that member should give the
ball and eggplant to the next person in line.
v. Steps iiiv will repeat until all members have taken their turn.
vi. The first team to finish will be declared the winner, and so on.
vii. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
VIII. Hanapan ng Kagamitan na may Aktingan
Time Allotted: 60 minutes
Materials Needed:
3 pcs Small Box Ballpen
Papers in Team Colors Items to scavenge
Mechanics:
**THERE WILL BE NO SPEAKING OR MOUTHING ALLOWED DURING THE
FIRST PART OF THE ACTIVITY.
Part I:
i. Teams will arrange themselves in a line following the
moderators instructions.
ii. The first member in line should face the moderator, and the rest
should turn their backs.
iii. The first member will randomly pick a word from the box to act
out to the next person, when this is done, the next person
should act out to the next and so on.
iv. The last person should write down what he thinks the word is on
a piece of paper provided by the moderators. No erasures are
allowed. They can be specific in terms of descriptors.
v. After writing, that person should head to the front of the line
and the game repeats until all members of the team have
picked a word.
Part II:
vi. After the last word has been written, the teams will then join
together to look for the items they have written on their
scavenger list.
vii. Each correct item that the team brings will be awarded points,
wrong items = no points. NOTE: The items should match the
words from the box, not the list.
viii. The teams who finish first, second and third will also have their
corresponding number of points.
ix. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
IX. Kamangha-manghang Karera (Amazing Race)
Time Allotted: 3 hours
Materials Needed:
3 pcs Weights/Stones String
Ball Pen/Marker Ice Candy Plastic Bag
Scissors Craft Paper in team colors
Straw
Mechanics:
i. Numbered clues will be hidden in or near the vicinity. Clues for
each team are written in paper with their team colors.
ii. Each team will be given their first clue at the start of the
activity.
iii. The clue will lead the team to their first task and the next clue.
iv. For evidence that the task was completed, each team is required
to either take a photograph or a video depending on the task
given.
v. After each task, the team should proceed to the next task and
clue location until all the tasks are fulfilled.
vi. All clues should be kept until the activity is finished, if there are
missing pieces of paper, there will be deductions given.
vii. Corresponding points will be given to teams who finish first,
second or third.
viii. Moderators will judge the creativity of each task at the end of
the activity and the most creative for each task will have
corresponding points.
ix. At any time during the activity, the teams can request guidance
from the moderators, however, each request costs five (5)
points and the moderators are not allowed to spoon-feed the
teams, they can only give additional hints.
x. Points earned by each team in the activity will be displayed on
the scoreboard.
