ESS and MSS Configuration

Copy Ess and Mss patches from any source folder to the given location.

D:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in

Apply the patches in the above mentioned order (Highlighted)

Go to the location D:\usr\sap\EPD\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\JSPM and run go.bat file to launch JSPM Tool
Click on go.bat
Provide the SDM Password
Select Business Package and click next
Click Next
Click Next
Click on Exit

Restart JSPM Tool from D:\usr\sap\EPD\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\JSPM and run go.bat file to launch JSPM Tool
Click on go.bat
Provide SDM Password and Click on Log On
Click Next
Go to URL (http://server:50400) as given below

Go to User Management and Assign all " NWDI* " Groups to Administrator user.
Go to URL (http://server:50400) as given below
Click on "SAP Netweaver Administration"
Provide User ID and Pwd. Click on Log On
Click on " Deploy and Change " link
Select on " Initial setup of functional unit Development Infrastructure (DI all-in-one) " and Click on Start.
Provide DDIC Password,

Check on "Customize the User Configuration"

Give Administrator User( administrator) and Password.

Provide Development User (administrator) and password. and Click on Next.
Click on Next
Uncheck "Create Track" and Click on Next
Click on " Log Off"

ACTIVATE MODEL AND METADATA

Go to Home Page
Click on Web Dynpro Tools
Click on " Content Administration "
Provide User ID and Password. Click on Log On
Click on " Maintain JCO Destination "

Create All the below given Model and Metada

SAP_R3_Financials,
SAP_R3_Financials_MetaData
SAP_R3_HumanResources
SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaDataFIN
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenericsFIN
SAP_R3_Travel
SAP_R3_Travel_MetaData

Note: Select as given below

Metadata -> Application Mode

Model Data -> Dictionary Mode

Click on Create
Provide the Client Number and Click on Next
Click on Next
Select " Dictionary metadata " and Click on Next
Check on " Enter Host Name Manually"
Provide host name and Click on Next
provide User Name , password and Click on Next
Click on Finish
Click on Ping
Click on Test
Follow the same process for all Model and Metadata Creations.

Close Window after completion.

Creation of ESS and MSS users

Go to URL: " http://server:50400/irj/portal"

Scroll towards right side
Click on User Administration
Click on Create User
Click on Assigned Role
Type " *ess* " and Click on Go

Click on Select All and again Click on Add button

Click on Save
Click on Create User
Provide all the inputs and Click on Assigned Roles
Type " *mss* " and Click on Go

Click on Select All and again Click on Add button

Click on Save

Go to Portal home page and Click on Logoff

Log on with "ess" user, Provide user ID and Password. Click on Log on
End of Ess Configuration.

Customised ESS Configuration ( With the help of ABAPers)

Log on to Portal with Administrator user

Go to Content Administration.
Expand "Portal Content" Folder and again Expand "Content Provided by SAP "
Expand " End User Content"
Expand " Employee Self Service "
Expand Roles
Double Click on Employee Self Service
Scroll Down
Expand Entry point
Scroll towards right side and Mark Entry Point Value as " Yes"
Click on Save Button
Expand Manage _All
Scroll Towards Right side and Mark " Manage_All" value as " YES"
Click on Save button
Expand "Iviews" Folder
Double Click on Overview
give the Z Program (ZSAPDEFAULTESS_ERP2005) created by ABAPer
Provide the Cache Validity Period as -1 msec
Click on SAVE
Click on Log Off

Go back to Backend system & type Transaction code SPRO.

Click &
Choose
Go to portal URL : http://server:50400/irj/portal
Provide the User ID and Password of ESS user. Click on Log On
