NOTE: Section used for Preliminary Check is greater than actual section provided by on site.
Section measured on site could not be found on any steel designers manual table hence a higher
section was used,

Ultimate Bending Moment is Mu=FyZ

Fy= Yield stress of steel
Z= Section Modulus

Since Fy is a constant in both Approved for construction Section and Provided section.

MU can be equal to Z for this condition.

Therefore Mu = 4935 for AFC section

While Mu = 1109 for Provided section.

Conclusion

1. Cross sectional area is 46% less than required in AFC drawing possibility of
bulking very high.

2. Flange thickness is 57% less than required in AFC drawing possibility of

Flange

Bending very high.

3. Cross sectional weight is 56% lower than required in AFC drawing.

4. Mu values show a difference of 78% on Preliminary section check hence

provided section is grossly inadequate so no further analysis check is not
required.

5. Section used for Preliminary Check is greater actual section provided by Gosh
project on site. Section measure on site could not be found on any steel
designers manual table hence a higher section was used,

Remove steel section from site immediately
