End of the Year

Purpose: The purpose of this portfolio is for you to develop critical ears, and to take ownership
of your own musical development by tracking your progress.

Goals: This portfolio will allow you to demonstrate your progress in the following areas:
1. Ability to describe (in words) your music-making experiences.
2. Demonstrate consistent tone control.
3. Making musical decisions (Phrasings, articulation, style).
4. Knowledge of your instrument.

Evidence:
1. Please write one page detailing your musical experiences and progress this semester.
This may include any of the following (but is not limited to):
-How you improved as a musician?
-How has the ensemble improved as a group?
-What was your favorite musical experience?
-What is your favorite thing about music?
-What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Video recordings of any 3 scales (one octave)
Video recording of a duet (you and a partner)
Video recording of an approved etude
3. Choose one of the following below to be included in your portfolio:
Your own composition
Your own artwork that portrays a piece from our concert (with mini paragraph
explaining your artwork and the connection to the piece)
Concert Reflection
4. Choose one other item from the list above (one you have not picked already) to include as
your final item on your portfolio.
