Journal Notes for Practicum 3b.

Write your journal in paragraph form. It should be a minimum of 100 words and clearly
illustrated with photographs. Remember, it is your personal account of your thoughts,
feelings, and reactions during your time in the preschool. Consequently, you may choose to
focus not only on the discussion points raised in each observation and/or use one, all or none
of the following focus points in your journal.

You can use this table to make notes / jot down ideas during TP. It would also be helpful to
consistently compare this practicum with previous TP experience and reflect on your
professional development with reference to the TP Competencies.

What is your general feeling about TP at the end of the day?

At the end of the first week, I feel comfortable with the place and I build a strong relationship a with
my MST and principle. I take all schedule of theme, trips, and events from the principle. Also, t take a
weekly plan from my MST to understand the subject.

Reflect on the duties/activities did you carry out during the preschool today. How do you feel
about your efforts? Was there anything you could have done to improve the quality of the
learning experience for the children?

I monitor the students learning during the week. So, I observe that the teacher in my classroom doesnt
apply a lot of hands-on activity. So, I prepared a hands-on activity to develop the learning for the
students. And I explained to my MST that students learn using hands-on activity.

What was the most interesting activity or strategy you saw your MST use? Why did you think it
was interesting and worth noting/remembering? Compare this with previous TP experience.

I observe that my MST use a strategy in morning by giving the students a sticker usually at the
beginning of the day. The students feel happy and they encourage to complete their day because always
the students crying in the morning and they dont comfortable about the place.

What progress have you made in terms of your own personal targets for TP this semester?
Which TP competencies do you feel you achieved and which do you think that you need to focus
on next time? Discuss ways in which you could do this.

I think this week, I achieve my planning competency and I developed during the week. I manage my
time during the lesson and I divide the lesson in three-part circle time, grouping time, closing time.
What evidence of learning did you identify/document today? Relate this to the UK EYFS early
learning goals.

This week the students learn number 2 and letter f. They know who to count oral counting from 1 to 10
and the count two object and connected with number 2.

What was the most important thing you learned about the role of the teacher in managing all
aspects of the school day? Compare this with previous TP experience and where possible make
links with college-based learning.

I think the teacher has a big role to monitor the students in classroom and outdoor. The teacher has a
big responsibility to educate the students in correct way. she needs to build big relationships with
students and not only give the contact.
