Fulmer 802 Laurie Street Maryville, TN 37803 Re: Appointment Letter Dear Phillip: As you know, earlier today The University of Tennessee suspended John Currie with pay pending an investigation or decision relating to termination of his Employment Agreement for cause under Article IX of his Employment Agreement. During this time, I have asked you to perform the role of Director of Athletics, effective this afternoon. In that position, you will report directly to me and will be the senior administrator having overall and day-to-day responsibility for the Athletics Department. You will be paid an annual salary of five hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars ($575,000), subject to all applicable state and federal tax reporting and withholding requirements. Other compensation and benefits include: * Bonuses, retirement contributions, and fringe benefits in accordance with University and Athletics Department policies + Reimbursement for qualified expenses pursuant to University and Athletics Department policies and a non-accountable expense allowance of $2,500 per month (an annualized non- accountable expense allowance of $30,000) to assist you in meeting expenses incurred in fulfilling your duties for which the University does not provide reimbursement. = Eight (8) Neyland Stadium skybox tickets will continue to be provided for your use at home football games. University and Athletics Department policies, . Either a monthly vehicle allowance of $1,600 or two (2) vehicles of a quality, in terms of make and model, similar to vehicles provided to other University head coaches, for your personal use. The University shall be solely responsible for maintaining liability insurance coverage on the vehicle. As required by NCAA Bylaw 11.21, if you are found in violation of NCAA regulations or responsible for another person's violation of NCAA regulations, then you shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including but not limited to suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations. Outside activities must be carried on in accordance with the University’s conflict of interest policies. Personal endorsements of products or services must have the prior approval of me to ensure that they do not conflict with University contracts or contracts entered into by the University’s multi-media rights or apparel partners.
