Limited funding

Anita Busch, co-founder of the National Compassion Fund, says it is heartbreaking to


see the same cycle repeating. "We see this after each mass shooting. People just need
emergency funds right away to cover basic living expenses, but there's nothing in place
right now to allow that to happen except through the state. And, when you go through
the state, the help is minuscule compared to the need."
