REPORT: STRATEGIC PLAN OF THE PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT
(NATIONAL LEVEL)

The NATIONAL ECONOMIC AND DEVELOMENT AUTHORITY (NEDA) assume


the central role of coordinating planning at the aggregate level and overall program
implementation of the National Government. Its main objective is planning and
overseeing government development programs and coordinate development
policies and monitor each projects and program of the government.
The following are the steps in doing Planning:
1. Assessment of Needs and Problems
In this phase identifying what are the main problem of the country and what
are the need of the people that needs immediate attention. It is gather all
needed information ensuring all information is up to date and as accurate as possible which
is very important to ensure sound decisions results from this whole process. Identify any
specific issues that needs to be addressed.

2. National Philosophy or Aspirations


The government will also consider the long term aspirations of most of the
Filipino. This will ensure that everything that they are doing are not against
the Filipino people.
3. Goals and Objectives
The major organizational and unit objectives are set in this stage. This is to
be done for the long term as well as for the short range. Objective specify
the expected results and indicate the end points of what is to be done,
where the primary emphasis is to be placed and what is to be accomplished
by the various type of plans.
Organizational objectives give direction to the major plans, which by
reflecting these objectives define the objective of every major department.
Major objectives, in turn, control the objectives of subordinate departments
and so on down the line. In other words, objectives from a hierarchy.
4. Policies
Concerned with preparing and implementing plans that help us decide
where and when development takes place. A range of planning
policies are used to inform decisions to approve or reject planning
applications.
5. Programming
Involves development of budget system and linkages. It is process of
creating set of instructions in achieving the goals and objectives. It is the
stage of developing possible solutions to achieve objectives.
6. Sectorial or Regional Planning and Programming
The national planning will have linkages and ensure that smooth
implementation will be followed thus in order to make sure that positive
result will be achieved, planning and programming in Sectorial and
Regional Level is also done.
7. Project Planning and Implementation
The implementation of the strategies or solution is done during this phase
wherein constant monitoring and evaluation will be done to know if the plan
works or not.

PRESIDENT DUTERTE STRATEGIC APPROACH


The Current Administration Strategic Approach is having Bold vision and effective development
Planning. It is Forward-looking approach that goes beyond a single administration. Current
Administration have the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 it is the First medium-
term plan anchored on this national long-term vision. It seeks to lay a stronger foundation for
more inclusive growth, a high trust and resilient society, and globally competitive knowledge
economy.

Represent the collective long-term vision and aspirations of the Filipino people for
themselves and for the country in the 25 years.
Describes the kind of life that people want to live, and how the country will be by
2040.
Picture of the future, a set of life goals and goals for the country.
Vision the guides the future and is the anchor of the countrys plans.

Filipinos live in a prosperous, predominantly middle class society where no one is poor.
PDP 2017-2022 TARGETS
1. The Philippines will be an upper middle income country by 2022.
2. Growth will be more inclusive as manifested by a lower poverty incidence in the rural areas,
from 30 percent in 2015 to 20 percent in 2022.
3. The Philippines will have a high level of human development by 2022.
4. The unemployment rate will decline from the current 5.5 percent to 3-5 percent in 2022.
5. There will be greater trust in government and in society.
6. Individuals and communities will be more resilient.
7. Filipinos will have greater drive for innovation.

PDP 2017-2022 STRATEGIES

1. Enhancing the social fabric: The aim is to regain peoples trust in public institutions and
cultivate trust in fellow Filipinos.

3. Increasing potential growth: It is imperative that economic growth is accelerated and
sustained for Patuloy na Pag-unlad.
