The search for a Paterson woman who police fear was abducted during a carjacking has

entered its second week.

Authorities on Tuesday went door-to-door in Paterson, handing out flyers and gathering

any tips that could help them find Shanaya ColeyColey, who has a 3-year-old child, was

last seen around 11 p.m. last Tuesday near Colonial Avenue in Paterson.

Police said a witness reported hearing a woman screaming and putting up a fight with

someone. The fight allegedly turned violent when the witness noticed the suspect pull out

a knife to stab Coley.

Authorities said Coleys glasses and a trail of blood were found at the scene.

Police said Coley was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima with New Jersey plates R74-HRX.

The vehicle is also still missing.

Authorities say a teenager accused of stealing a vehicle with a child inside was a repeat

offender "who was wearing a monitoring bracelet" when he was arrested.

A 7-year-old inside the car at the time was let out of the vehicle safely a short distance

away.

Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said officers quickly found the stolen vehicle,

which collided with several other vehicles, and arrested a 16-year-old suspect who was

trying to get away.

The youth was charged with eluding, assault by eluding, child endangerment, theft and

criminal restraint.

Massive wildfires continued to scorch Southern California on Sunday fueled by whipping

Santa Ana winds as thousands of firefighters braced for more extreme weather in the

week ahead.

Five fires covering more than a quarter of a million acres raged across California on

Sunday, with 9,000 firefighters combating the flames, according to the California

Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire.

More than 800 homes and structures have been destroyed and 98,000 people have been

forced to evacuate, according to Cal Fire. The ongoing blazes are threatening 25,000

homes.

By far the largest blaze, the Thomas Fire in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, spanned

230,000 acres and was only 10 percent contained

Voters go to the polls in Alabama on Tuesday to decide who will be their next senator

and, with polls all over the map, no one's quite sure whether it will be Republican Roy

Moore or Democrat Doug Jones.

In a typical election here, the Republican in a U.S. Senate race would be a heavy favorite.

But Moore has served up a powerful cocktail of reasons for fellow Republicans to

second-guess whether party ID is the most important factor in an election: He was twice

removed from the state Supreme Court for defying federal orders; his rhetoric on racial

and religious minorities is abrasive to many; and, most recently, he's been the subject of

multiple allegations of sexual misconduct with teenage girls, which he denies.

Still, it would be an epic upset if Jones won in a state that currently has no Democrats in

statewide elected office and hasn't voted for a Democrat for the Senate since Sen. Richard

Shelby, who is now a Republican, in 1986.

The polls in Alabama closed at 8:00 p.m., ET.

President Donald Trump will recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital on Wednesday,

while also delaying moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city, officials

said.

Though Trump will not relocate the embassy any time soon one White House official

told reporters it could take years the president still intends to fulfill that promise made

early in his administration.

Senior administration officials called Trump's expected recognition of Jerusalem an

affirmation of "reality" both historical and current, pointing out that the city is already

home to Israel's parliament, supreme court and other government sites.

Palestinians, however, also claim Jerusalem as their capital, and Trump's anticipated

announcement has touched off an uproar in the Arab world

Prince William and Prince Harry suited up for Tuesday's European premiere of Star

Wars: The Last Jedi(in theaters Dec. 15), attending as one another's dates without their

respective partners, Duchess Kate and Meghan Markle, in town.

William and Harry famously filmed a cameo for The Last Jedi together, playing

Stormtroopers and wearing their signature face-obscuring helmets.

On the red carpet, however, the princely brothers wore classic tuxedos, leaving the

Stormtrooper costumes for other actors in attendance.
