2.1 Objective
The objective of this study is to evaluate the in vivo cosmetic efficacy on existing hair and the
cosmetic appreciation of hair products concept comprising a shampoo, a mask and a
lotion identified as follows:
The study is carried out during a 28-day period of use of the tested products.
2.2 Population
115 subjects are selected for this study among the national panel of Spinconso.
The subjects selected for this study are healthy female subjects, from 21 to 44 years.
These subjects must strictly meet the inclusion / non inclusion criteria defined in paragraph 3.1.

Start of the application period: week 16 (2017)
End of the application period : week 20 (2017)
This study is carried out as an "open study". Both the participating subjects and the
Investigator are aware of the type of products being tested.
This study is a non-comparative study.
The panel of SPINCONSO unit is composed of subjects registered by means of the Spinconsos
website. Those subjects have had to fill out a dedicated online questionnaire prior to their
registration in Spinconso database, providing administrative information about them as well as
some piece of information about their medical history, possible allergies, skin-care and make-up
habits. The subjects could access to personal data and have the data corrected by their login
name and their password.
The selection procedures are elaborated in order to guarantee that the subjects receive all
possible information about the aims of the study and the consequences of their participation.
This selection procedure includes two steps:
On the one hand, the registration of the panelists on Spinconso ends by the process of
obtaining their informed consent form. Indeed, the volunteers have to read, approved,
and signed a single consent form available for all consumer tests performed with the
Spinconso unit. This document is returned signed in Spinconso unit by mail or
electronically way. It allows substantiating the fact that they freely accept the conditions
of the Spinconso unit which has been described to them.
On the other hand, an information sheet, including all essential information about the
studys modalities, its practical considerations, possible payment, as well as any
possible cosmetic benefits, inconveniences or potential risks, is sent with the tested
product(s) or by mail to each subject, for each new study.
In addition, for each specific study, the selection of the subjects is performed by the
SPINCONSO unit, through the sending of a mailing, offering the panelists to participate to the
study, based on the inclusion/non inclusion criteria listed below.

Healthy subject (no infectious and/or evolving pathology which could make the subject
vulnerable and oblige him/her to discontinue the study, no pathology which could interfere
with the study and with no symptoms in the process of an exploratory checkup)
From 20 to 45 years,
Caucasian subject
With healthy skin on the studied anatomic unit (free of eczema, wounds, inflammatory scar...)
Specific criteria
Presenting normal hair, dry hair or greasy hair in balanced distribution
Presenting blond hair, brown hair or red hair
Standard criteria
Being or suspecting to be pregnant or breastfeeding or having stopped to breastfeed during
the past three months
Participating in another study liable to interfere with this study
Being insulin-dependent diabetic or non insulin-dependent diabetic recently (during the last 6
months) undergoing therapy
With non-stable thyroid problems (Requirement: A subject with thyroid problems must be
under treatment for at least the last 6 months and must have a stable condition.)
With cutaneous hypersensitivity.
With a diagnosed or highly probable allergy to one or several ingredients of cosmetic
products or to food
Following a medical treatment due to a chronic disease or being under medical treatment
during the study with any of the following products: aspirin-based products, anti-inflammatory
products, antihistaminic products, corticosteroids administrated by general or local routes
(The only permitted medication is Paracetamol),
Refusing to follow the restrictions below during the study :
- Do not become pregnant or do not start breastfeeding,
- Do not participate in another study liable to interfere with this study
- Do not follow a medical treatment including any of the following products: aspirin-based
products, anti-inflammatory products, antihistaminic products, corticosteroids
administrated by general or local routes (the only permitted medication is Paracetamol).
- Do not change their cosmetic habits apart from the particular conditions mentioned in the
protocol, on the studied anatomic unit
- During the study: It is prohibited to use other hair products than the test products (only
the hair styling products are allowed; hairs spray, styling gel, etc)
The Study Sponsor is in charge of product manufacturing and packaging of the test products.
The Study Sponsor is also responsible for the identification, determination of purity,
composition, innocuousness, and all other characteristics of each test product.
The Study Sponsor is responsible for supplying the exact amount of products required to
conduct the study.
For this study, the Study Sponsor agrees to supply:
The appropriate amount of products required for all subjects participating in the study;
A sufficient amount of extra products for any additional subjects included in the study;
One product unit per reference and per batch for the sample bank of SPINCONTROL.
Products are stored at ambient temperature away from light.
3.2.2 Packaging, labeling and dispatch of the products
Packaging
The tested products are presented in neutral packaging in order to keep the subjects blind
about the claim and/or the brand name of the tested products, especially in case of already
marketed products.
For this study, the tested products are directly provided in neutral package by the study
sponsor.

A label is affixed on every product according to the following model:

In the days preceding the start of the study, a carton box dedicated to each subject is prepared
with the following elements:
The tested products, protected in bubble wrap
The study documents, that is to say in this case:
- The information sheet
- The daily application follow-up form
Then, the carton boxes are dispatched and followed-up to the subjects home by an
independent package delivery company.
The application of the tested products is carried out by the subjects, at home.
The Study Sponsor allows the subjects to keep the test products at the end of the study. An
expiry date corresponding by default to a period of 6 months from the beginning of the study
appears on the product labeling.
Principle
The subjects fill in a questionnaire after 28 days of use, in order to collect their appreciation
about the efficacy and the cosmetic properties of the tested products. The questionnaire,
provided by the study sponsor, is presented in appendix 4 of the study protocol.
The questionnaire starts with an open question, inviting the subjects to express freely their
positive and negative comments about the tested products.
The questionnaire also includes close-ended items, with primarily the following possible
answers:
Completely agree
Somewhat agree
Somewhat disagree
Completely disagree
In addition, some yes/no questions are also used to evaluate the recommendation rate and
the use intention of the hair products concept.
Acquisition methodology
The questionnaire is sent to the subjects on their electronic mail on schedule that is to say at
the date corresponding to the T + 28 days.
The questionnaires are carried on and exploited with a dedicated software Ethnos Net survey
V6 developed by Softconcept reachable from an Internet browser. The data management is
performed by the study manager with Excel (Microsoft).
The management of the adverse events for consumer tests with a national panel is described in
a specific Spincontrol SOP referenced POS-TEC-CV06-Gestion des vnements indsirables
pour panel national(Spinconso).
3.4.1 Definitions
An adverse event is defined by the article R1123-39 of public health code as any noxious event
observed at a subject who voluntarily participates in a clinical research trial and which does not
necessarily have a connexion with the research or with the test product in question.
According to the article R1123-39 of public health code, a Serious Adverse Event (SAE)
includes, but is not limited to, any event that :
may lead to death (regardless of the reasons);
is life-threatening;
requires hospitalization or prolongation of a hospitalization;
causes inability, significant or permanent disability;
translates into anomaly or congenital malformation.
The case of pregnancy and the case of an Adverse Event with serious aspect are managed in
the same way as a S.A.E.
Adverse Effect
An adverse effect is defined as any noxious and undesired reaction occurring with the tested
product.
Cosmetovigilance department
Spincontrol has created a cosmetovigilance department in order to manage each A.E. of dermal
origin. The cosmetovigilants have followed a previously defined internal training program,
enabling them to recognize as far as possible by phone the main features of a clinical
intolerance reaction to cosmetics as well as of a dermatological or allergological emergency
situation.
For each study, the subject is previously informed about their obligations (in terms of notification
of any kind of health problem during the study, hospitalisation, sick leave, changes of
medication intake, pregnancy occurrence or pregnancy suspicion, potential benefits/risks etc.)
on the basis of the information sheet sent before the start of the study by mail with the product
or by e-mail.
For all the studies involving an evaluation of the cutaneous acceptability of the tested
product(s), this form of cutaneous acceptability is used.
It has been created in order to facilitate the reporting of non-serious cutaneous A.Es at home by
the subject. The cutaneous acceptability form allows the subject to note on a daily basis the
experienced sensations or the observed signs during the application of the test product(s),
indicating the nature of the sign, its intensity and its duration.
Any phone call or e-mail from the subject for an AE during the course of the study will be
immediately managed by the Cosmetovigilance unit, whatever the study type with or without the
evaluation of cutaneous acceptability.
Given the localization of the panel all over France, the management of the A.E. is only done
through phone calls between the subjects and the cosmetovigilance unit, without any physical
visit (and thus without medical exam) to Spincontrols premises.
Immediate action
Emergency situation
Case n 2 : AE written by the subject on the cutaneous acceptability form (for the studies
concerned by this option):
The data are analysed at the end of the study, during their reading at the moment of the writing
of the synthesis by the cosmetovigilant.
Monitoring
The cosmetovigilant is responsible for managing by phone the follow-up of the cutaneous
reactions considered as imputable or potentially imputable to the tested product(s) until
complete disappearance for the cases n 1 and 2.
In the case n 3, no follow-up is carried out except if there is a specific request from the
Sponsor.
Information to be submitted
Each S.A.E. (as previously defined), regardless of the cause and effect relationship with the test
product and regardless of the treatment, will be described in the specific form which also
resumes the main characteristics of the subject (identification of the subject, date of beginning
and end of the S.A.E., comprehensive description of the S.A.E., medical history and received
treatment). The Investigator or the cosmetovigilant must fill in this notification form of a S.A.E.
and communicate all the results of examinations carried out and the reports of hospitalization
with the anonymity of the subject.
The effect of the hair products concept is evaluated over a 28-day period. The procedures are
scheduled as follows:
At T0:
Start of the products application period
At T+28 days:
Completion of the on-line questionnaire related to the tested products
End of test
The provided results include all the subjects having fully completed the questionnaire at the
corresponding time.
Overall analysis and analysis for each type of hair (normal, greasy, dry):
The results are presented on the whole panel as well as separated per type of hair (normal,
greasy, dry). No statistical comparison is performed between the results obtained per each
subgroup of the panel.
The free comments are provided without treatment in appendix of the final report.
The analysis involves the creation of the frequency tables that take into account the number of
responses and calculate the frequency of the different possible answers (expressed in
percentages) to each qualitative question. For each question, the results are presented in tables
(number of answers and frequencies).
To evaluate the efficacy and the appreciation of the product(s), for each item, two percentages
Z1 and Z2 are calculated, as follows:
Z1 = Favorable opinion (i.e.: Completely agree" + "Somewhat agree")
Z2 = Unfavorable opinion (i.e.: "Somewhat disagree" + "Completely disagree")
The statistical difference of the frequencies (%) between favourable and unfavourable opinions
is evaluated by the means of the Chi-squared test with a level of significance set at 5%.
The Investigator certifies that the Study Coordinator and everyone involved in this study have
the required qualifications and skills to carry out the study.
The data saving of the studies is carried out each evening in a secured safe of brand name
Wooxo which is located in Spincontrols premises.
This box is a safe which resists to fires, to floods and to removal to fight against the theft.
The Investigator performs a dual archiving on two different types of support: paper and
electronic.
The paper documents related to the study are archived for 6 months at Spincontrol s premises
after the sending of the final report to the sponsor. Then all paper archiving is destroyed by
Spincontrol without information to the study sponsor.
Electronic files are archived on 2 large capacity USB hard disks. The disks are stored for 10
years in 2 different locations in order to prevent any risk of theft or damage.
4.4 Insurance
The Investigator and the Study Sponsor have separately purchased an insurance policy in order
to cover their civil liability with regards to the subjects. The Study Sponsor covers their civil
responsibilities for this study with the insurance policy referenced below:

The Investigator is insured for their civil liability under the terms of the following policy:
AXA Company - Contract N 6875282204
"The Study Sponsor assumes responsibility for compensating an injured participant and their
eligible beneficiaries for prejudicial consequences resulting from the study, even without being
at fault and without being possible to blame third parties or the withdrawal of the individual who
had initially volunteered to take part in the research" (excerpt of the Public Health Code article
L1121-10 amended by law n2012-300 dated 5th March 2012 art. 1 (v)).
In compliance with the law n 2004-801 dated 6th August 2004 relating to the protection of
natural person regarding the treatment of data of a personal nature and which amends the law
n78-17 dated 6th January 1978 relating to information technology, files and freedom the
automatic treatment of personal data are subject to a declaration to the CNIL (Commission
Nationale de lInformatique et des liberts). The data base necessary to carry out the whole
studies of SPINCONTROL Company was declared to the CNIL.
The study sponsor cannot have access to the confidential data relative to the subjects
registered in the data base of Spincontrol.
The subjects are identified for the Study Sponsor using a five-character alphanumeric code and
by a number determined for each new study in which the subjects are enrolled. The Investigator
agrees not to disclose the anonymity of the subjects.
Each subject has accepted once a consent form at the time of their registration on Spinconso
subjects base.
Then, an information sheet is provided to each subject for each new study, in order to present
the details of the study, including:
the objective, the procedures and the length of the study;
the possibly expected esthetic benefits, the restrictions related to the study as well as its
potential risks;
the amount of compensation (if applicable), the right to consult personal data.
4.8 Confidentiality
All the information, data, and results of the study are confidential. Everyone having access to
such data is informed about their confidentiality.
All the medical data concerning the subjects health are subject to the medical confidentiality
regulations and in no case should such information be communicated to the Study Sponsor
using the subjects identity, in accordance with the Medical Ethics Code Decree N 95-1000,
dated 6 September 1995.
The entire study record (protocol, results, report, and all study related documents) is the subject
of a Quality Assurance assessment which complies with the regulations and procedures in
effect. The procedure used for the comprehensive audit of this study has the following reference
POS-ASQ-AU03-Procdure de Contrle qualit des documents dtude.
The Investigator is willing to accept and to cooperate with any audit required by the Study
Sponsor in order to make sure that the study proceeds according to the protocol and
procedures in effect.
SPINCONTROL is certified according to ISO 9001:2008 and has an operating license issued by
the Prefecture of the Centre Region and the Loiret for cosmetic products, for dietary
supplements and medical devices (classes I and IIa) allowing the French laboratory to conduct
biomedical studies.
This study is conducted according to the most recent recommendations of the World Medical
Association (Declaration of Helsinki amended at Fortaleza, Brazil in October 2013) as well as
according to the current regulations.
In France, by order of February 8th, 2017, the Council of State suspended the application decree
N2016-1537 of November 16th, 2016 of the Law N 2012-300 of March 5th, 2012, concerning
the researches involving the human person, called Loi Jard for the researches on cosmetic
products.
Therefore, clinical trials on cosmetics must respect the terms of the previous law N 2004-806 of
August 9th, 2004 concerning the Public Health Policy.
This law foresees two categories of research involving humans. The non-interventional
category concerns the majority of tests on cosmetic products, aesthetic products or devices
without any medical purpose. The non-interventional researches are qualified as any study
conducted on healthy volunteers, by negligible risk methods of investigation on
products with determined safety-in use under normal conditions of use or according to
methods reproducing these conditions.
In this study, every tested product (and associated or support product(s), if any) meets the legal
and safe current requirements. The prerequisite about safety has been validated by qualified
people. The purposes of this study consist only in objectifying and documenting the efficacy of
this (these) product(s) made to act only into the superficial layers of healthy skins.
Indeed, these techniques of investigation had previously been recognized by the French Health
Authority as "not at risk" following the publication by AFSSAPS of the Recommendations
concerning biomedical research on cosmetic products falling within the scope of the Law on
Public Health Policy dating back to August 9th, 2004 (September 7th, 2006 version).
According to this law N 2004-806, non interventional protocols do not have to be submitted to
an Independent Ethical Committee (Comit de Protection des Personnes) neither to the French
Heath Authority (ANSM).
A prior agreement between the Investigator and the Study Sponsor covered by this contract is
required for any publication or communication directly concerning the two parties. Both parties
take the commitment to inform each other if such an event should occur.
At the request of the promoter, the statistical analysis was removed from this report of study
(only the percentages of appreciation appear there).

capillaires habituels, les signes fonctionnels et cliniques sont jugs :

- Signes cliniques : desquamations minimes sur le revtement du cuir chevelu.

Conclusion :
Suivant la symptomatologie dcrite par le sujet, il est mis en vidence que le concept capillaire
ne correspond pas au revtement de son cuir chevelu.

Globally, the concept is appreciated by the subjects, particularly for its cosmetic properties and
receives a favourable overall judgment.
To finish, the subjects are satisfied with the concept and would like to continue using
these products and especially for subjects presenting greasy hair.
To conclude, in the experimental conditions of the study, the results show a good
appreciation of the hair products concept, after 28 days of use through self-evaluation
questionnaire especially for its cosmetic properties and for subjects presenting greasy

2.1 Objective
The objective of this study is to evaluate the in vivo cosmetic efficacy on existing hair and the
cosmetic appreciation of hair products concept comprising a shampoo, a mask and a
lotion identified as follows:
The study is carried out during a 28-day period of use of the tested products.
2.2 Population
100 subjects are selected for this study among the national panel of Spinconso. In order to
best ensure the final number of subjects required by the Study Sponsor for the expression of
the results, despite the possible withdrawal of one or more subjects, up to 15% additional
subjects, i.e. 15 subjects are selected at the Investigators expense.
The subjects selected for this study are healthy female subjects, from 20 to 45 years.
These subjects must strictly meet the inclusion / non inclusion criteria defined in paragraph 3.1.

The signed final version of report is sent in electronic format by mail, within 7 days of the Study
Monitors validation date.
This study is carried out as an "open study". Both the participating subjects and the
Investigator are aware of the type of products being tested.
This study is a non-comparative study.
The panel of SPINCONSO unit is composed of subjects registered by means of the Spinconsos
website. Those subjects have had to fill out a dedicated online questionnaire prior to their
registration in Spinconso database, providing administrative information about them as well as
some piece of information about their medical history, possible allergies, skin-care and make-up
habits. The subjects could access to personal data and have the data corrected by their login
name and their password.
The selection procedures are elaborated in order to guarantee that the subjects receive all
possible information about the aims of the study and the consequences of their participation.
This selection procedure includes two steps:
On the one hand, the registration of the panelists on Spinconso ends by the process of
obtaining their informed consent form. Indeed, the volunteers have to read, approved,
and signed a single consent form available for all consumer tests performed with the
Spinconso unit. This document is returned signed in Spinconso unit by mail or
electronically way. It allows substantiating the fact that they freely accept the conditions
of the Spinconso unit which has been described to them.
On the other hand, an information sheet, including all essential information about the
studys modalities, its practical considerations, possible payment, as well as any
possible cosmetic benefits, inconveniences or potential risks, is sent with the tested
product(s) or by mail to each subject, for each new study.
In addition, for each specific study, the selection of the subjects is performed by the
SPINCONSO unit, through the sending of a mailing, offering the panelists to participate to the
study, based on the inclusion/non inclusion criteria listed below.
100 subjects are selected for this study. In order to best ensure the final number of subjects
required by the Study Sponsor for the expression of the results, despite the possible withdrawal
of one or more subjects, up to 15% additional subjects, i.e. 15 subjects are selected at the
Investigators expense.

Healthy subject (no infectious and/or evolving pathology which could make the subject
vulnerable and oblige him/her to discontinue the study, no pathology which could interfere
with the study and with no symptoms in the process of an exploratory checkup)

With healthy skin on the studied anatomic unit (free of eczema, wounds, inflammatory scar...)

Presenting normal hair, dry hair or greasy hair in balanced distribution
Presenting blond hair, brown hair or red hair
Standard criteria
Being or suspecting to be pregnant or breastfeeding or having stopped to breastfeed during
the past three months
Participating in another study liable to interfere with this study
Being insulin-dependent diabetic or non insulin-dependent diabetic recently (during the last 6
months) undergoing therapy
With non-stable thyroid problems (Requirement: A subject with thyroid problems must be
under treatment for at least the last 6 months and must have a stable condition.)
With cutaneous hypersensitivity.
With a diagnosed or highly probable allergy to one or several ingredients of cosmetic
products or to food
Following a medical treatment due to a chronic disease or being under medical treatment
during the study with any of the following products: aspirin-based products, anti-inflammatory
products, antihistaminic products, corticosteroids administrated by general or local routes
(The only permitted medication is Paracetamol),
Refusing to follow the restrictions below during the study :
- Do not become pregnant or do not start breastfeeding,
- Do not participate in another study liable to interfere with this study
- Do not follow a medical treatment including any of the following products: aspirin-based
products, anti-inflammatory products, antihistaminic products, corticosteroids
administrated by general or local routes (the only permitted medication is Paracetamol).
- Do not change their cosmetic habits apart from the particular conditions mentioned in the
protocol, on the studied anatomic unit
- During the study: It is prohibited to use other hair products than the test products (only
the hair styling products are allowed; hairs spray, styling gel, etc)
All restrictions presented above must be followed during the study. These restrictions are also
presented in the information sheet given to the subject before the start of each study.
The Study Sponsor is in charge of product manufacturing and packaging of the test products.
The Study Sponsor is also responsible for the identification, determination of purity,
composition, innocuousness, and all other characteristics of each test product.
The Study Sponsor is responsible for supplying the exact amount of products required to
conduct the study.
The product(s) should be delivered to the Study Coordinator at least one week prior to
the beginning of the study. In case of delivery time delay, due to the responsibility of the
Study Sponsor, another delivery time must be scheduled by the two parties.
The tested products are presented in neutral packaging in order to keep the subjects blind
about the claim and/or the brand name of the tested products, especially in case of already
marketed products.
For this study, the tested products are directly provided in neutral package by the study
sponsor.

In the days preceding the start of the study, a carton box dedicated to each subject is prepared
with the following elements:
The tested products, protected in bubble wrap
The study documents, that is to say in this case:
- The information sheet
- The daily application follow-up form
Then, the carton boxes are dispatched and followed-up to the subjects home by an
independent package delivery company.
The application of the tested products is carried out by the subjects, at home.
The Study Sponsor allows the subjects to keep the test products at the end of the study. An
expiry date corresponding by default to a period of 6 months from the beginning of the study
appears on the product labeling.
Principle
The subjects fill in a questionnaire after 28 days of use, in order to collect their appreciation
about the efficacy and the cosmetic properties of the tested products. The questionnaire,
provided by the study sponsor, is presented in appendix 4.
The questionnaire starts with an open question, inviting the subjects to express freely their
positive and negative comments about the tested products.
The questionnaire also includes close-ended items, with primarily the following possible
answers:
Completely agree
Somewhat agree
Somewhat disagree
Completely disagree
In addition, some yes/no questions are also used to evaluate the recommendation rate and
the use intention of the hair products concept.
Acquisition methodology
The questionnaire is sent to the subjects on their electronic mail on schedule that is to say at
the date corresponding to the T + 28 days.
The questionnaires are carried on and exploited with a dedicated software Ethnos Net survey
V6 developed by Softconcept reachable from an Internet browser. The data management is
performed by the study manager with Excel (Microsoft).
The management of the adverse events for consumer tests with a national panel is described in
a specific Spincontrol SOP referenced POS-TEC-CV06-Gestion des vnements indsirables
pour panel national(Spinconso).
3.4.1 Definitions
An adverse event is defined by the article R1123-39 of public health code as any noxious event
observed at a subject who voluntarily participates in a clinical research trial and which does not
necessarily have a connexion with the research or with the test product in question.
According to the article R1123-39 of public health code, a Serious Adverse Event (SAE)
includes, but is not limited to, any event that :
may lead to death (regardless of the reasons);
is life-threatening;
requires hospitalization or prolongation of a hospitalization;
causes inability, significant or permanent disability;
translates into anomaly or congenital malformation.
The case of pregnancy and the case of an Adverse Event with serious aspect are managed in
the same way as a S.A.E.
Adverse Effect
An adverse effect is defined as any noxious and undesired reaction occurring with the tested
product.
Cosmetovigilance department
Spincontrol has created a cosmetovigilance department in order to manage each A.E. of dermal
origin. The cosmetovigilants have followed a previously defined internal training program,
enabling them to recognize as far as possible by phone the main features of a clinical
intolerance reaction to cosmetics as well as of a dermatological or allergological emergency
situation.
For each study, the subject is previously informed about their obligations (in terms of notification
of any kind of health problem during the study, hospitalisation, sick leave, changes of
medication intake, pregnancy occurrence or pregnancy suspicion, potential benefits/risks etc.)
on the basis of the information sheet sent before the start of the study by mail with the product
or by e-mail.
For all the studies involving an evaluation of the cutaneous acceptability of the tested
product(s), this form of cutaneous acceptability is used.
It has been created in order to facilitate the reporting of non-serious cutaneous A.Es at home by
the subject. The cutaneous acceptability form allows the subject to note on a daily basis the
experienced sensations or the observed signs during the application of the test product(s),
indicating the nature of the sign, its intensity and its duration.
Any phone call or e-mail from the subject for an AE during the course of the study will be
immediately managed by the Cosmetovigilance unit, whatever the study type with or without the
evaluation of cutaneous acceptability.
Given the localization of the panel all over France, the management of the A.E. is only done
through phone calls between the subjects and the cosmetovigilance unit, without any physical
visit (and thus without medical exam) to Spincontrols premises.
Immediate action
Emergency situation
Case n 2 : AE written by the subject on the cutaneous acceptability form (for the studies
concerned by this option):
The data are analysed at the end of the study, during their reading at the moment of the writing
of the synthesis by the cosmetovigilant.
Monitoring
The cosmetovigilant is responsible for managing by phone the follow-up of the cutaneous
reactions considered as imputable or potentially imputable to the tested product(s) until
complete disappearance for the cases n 1 and 2.
In the case n 3, no follow-up is carried out except if there is a specific request from the
Sponsor.
Information to be submitted
Each S.A.E. (as previously defined), regardless of the cause and effect relationship with the test
product and regardless of the treatment, will be described in the specific form which also
resumes the main characteristics of the subject (identification of the subject, date of beginning
and end of the S.A.E., comprehensive description of the S.A.E., medical history and received
treatment). The Investigator or the cosmetovigilant must fill in this notification form of a S.A.E.
and communicate all the results of examinations carried out and the reports of hospitalization
with the anonymity of the subject.
The effect of the hair products concept is evaluated over a 28-day period. The procedures are
scheduled as follows:
At T0:

Completion of the on-line questionnaire related to the tested products
End of test
A subject included in the study is withdrawn from the study or considered as a "withdrawn"
subject if:
an adverse event attributable to the product(s) is judged severe,
the subject develops a systemic disease (unrelated to the test product(s), but occurring
during the study) and which requires the prescription of a medication that may interfere
with the results of the study,
the subject does not comply with the protocol.
The subjects may withdraw from the study at any time; if they wish (in this case the Study
Coordinator will gather information on the reasons of the withdrawal in order to determine
whether these reasons are related to the study).
The Study Sponsor may discontinue the study at any time for one of the following reasons:
failure to recruit enough subjects,
protocol violations,
deficient or inaccurate data,
intolerances or adverse reactions to the test product(s).
The Investigator may also discontinue the study at any time, after notifying the Study Sponsor, if
adverse events considered as serious adverse events jeopardize the health of the subjects.
In case of technical problems related to the dedicated software Ethnos Net survey V6
developed by Softconcept or Internet connexion, the study is postponed and not cancelled
until the concerned software or internet connexion are functioning properly again, in accordance
with the Study Sponsor.
The provided results include all the subjects having fully completed the questionnaire at the
corresponding time.
Overall analysis and analysis for each type of hair (normal, greasy, dry):
The results are presented on the whole panel as well as separated per type of hair (normal,
greasy, dry). No statistical comparison is performed between the results obtained per each
subgroup of the panel.
The free comments are provided without treatment in appendix of the final report.
The analysis involves the creation of the frequency tables that take into account the number of
responses and calculate the frequency of the different possible answers (expressed in
percentages) to each qualitative question. For each question, the results are presented in tables
(number of answers and frequencies).
To evaluate the efficacy and the appreciation of the product(s), for each item, two percentages
Z1 and Z2 are calculated, as follows:
Z1 = Favorable opinion (i.e.: Completely agree" + "Somewhat agree")
Z2 = Unfavorable opinion (i.e.: "Somewhat disagree" + "Completely disagree")
The statistical difference of the frequencies (%) between favourable and unfavourable opinions
is evaluated by the means of the Chi-squared test with a level of significance set at 5%.
The Investigator certifies that the Study Coordinator and everyone involved in this study have
the required qualifications and skills to carry out the study.
The data saving of the studies is carried out each evening in a secured safe of brand name
Wooxo which is located in Spincontrols premises.
This box is a safe which resists to fires, to floods and to removal to fight against the theft.
The Investigator performs a dual archiving on two different types of support: paper and
electronic.
The paper documents related to the study are archived for 6 months at Spincontrol s premises
after the sending of the final report to the sponsor. Then all paper archiving is destroyed by
Spincontrol without information to the study sponsor.
Electronic files are archived on 2 large capacity USB hard disks. The disks are stored for 10
years in 2 different locations in order to prevent any risk of theft or damage.
The Study Sponsor is hereby informed that any modifications requiring a protocol amendment
leads to additional costs. Each amendment bears a number and the date of creation. The
references of the modified paragraphs appear in the amendment. To accept an amendment,
both the Study Sponsor and the Investigator must sign it.
4.5 Insurance
The Investigator and the Study Sponsor have separately purchased an insurance policy in order
to cover their civil liability with regards to the subjects. The Study Sponsor covers their civil
responsibilities for this study with the insurance policy referenced below:

The Investigator is insured for their civil liability under the terms of the following policy:

"The Study Sponsor assumes responsibility for compensating an injured participant and their
eligible beneficiaries for prejudicial consequences resulting from the study, even without being
at fault and without being possible to blame third parties or the withdrawal of the individual who
had initially volunteered to take part in the research" (excerpt of the Public Health Code article
L1121-10 amended by law n2012-300 dated 5th March 2012 art. 1 (v)).
In compliance with the law n 2004-801 dated 6th August 2004 relating to the protection of
natural person regarding the treatment of data of a personal nature and which amends the law
n78-17 dated 6th January 1978 relating to information technology, files and freedom the
automatic treatment of personal data are subject to a declaration to the CNIL (Commission
Nationale de lInformatique et des liberts). The data base necessary to carry out the whole
studies of SPINCONTROL Company was declared to the CNIL.
The study sponsor cannot have access to the confidential data relative to the subjects
registered in the data base of Spincontrol.
The subjects are identified for the Study Sponsor using a five-character alphanumeric code and
by a number determined for each new study in which the subjects are enrolled. The Investigator
agrees not to disclose the anonymity of the subjects.
Each subject has accepted once a consent form at the time of their registration on Spinconso
subjects base.
Then, an information sheet is provided to each subject for each new study, in order to present
the details of the study, including:
the objective, the procedures and the length of the study;
the possibly expected esthetic benefits, the restrictions related to the study as well as its
potential risks;
the amount of compensation (if applicable), the right to consult personal data.
4.9 Confidentiality
All the information, data, and results of the study are confidential. Everyone having access to
such data is informed about their confidentiality.
All the medical data concerning the subjects health are subject to the medical confidentiality
regulations and in no case should such information be communicated to the Study Sponsor
using the subjects identity, in accordance with the Medical Ethics Code Decree N 95-1000,
dated 6 September 1995.
Any incidents occurring during the study are promptly reported to the Study Monitor.
Both parties agree that they will immediately inform each other in case of unanticipated
problems that could obstruct the study. The undersigned parties decide then, by mutual
agreement, the nature of the changes or modifications required in order to continue the test.
If no agreement can be reached between the parties, the Study Sponsor reserves the right to
discontinue the study, and this, only by notifying the Investigator by a registered letter. In such
case, the fee of the study matches the fees appearing on the invoices issued by the Investigator
and adds up all amounts related to the sections of the study that have been effectively
performed up to the date of discontinuation of the study. Any amount exceeding these fees and
paid by the Study Sponsor in advance are refunded.
The entire study record (protocol, results, report, and all study related documents) is the subject
of a Quality Assurance assessment which complies with the regulations and procedures in
effect. The procedure used for the comprehensive audit of this study has the following reference
POS-ASQ-AU03-Procdure de Contrle qualit des documents dtude.
The Investigator is willing to accept and to cooperate with any audit required by the Study
Sponsor in order to make sure that the study proceeds according to the protocol and
procedures in effect.
SPINCONTROL is certified according to ISO 9001:2008 and has an operating license issued by
the Prefecture of the Centre Region and the Loiret for cosmetic products, for dietary
supplements and medical devices (classes I and IIa) allowing the French laboratory to conduct
biomedical studies.
4.12 Regulations
This study is conducted according to the most recent recommendations of the World Medical
Association (Declaration of Helsinki amended at Fortaleza, Brazil in October 2013) as well as
according to the current regulations.
In France, by order of February 8th, 2017, the Council of State suspended the application decree
N2016-1537 of November 16th, 2016 of the Law N 2012-300 of March 5th, 2012, concerning
the researches involving the human person, called Loi Jard for the researches on cosmetic
products.
Therefore, clinical trials on cosmetics must respect the terms of the previous law N 2004-806 of
August 9th, 2004 concerning the Public Health Policy.
This law foresees two categories of research involving humans. The non-interventional
category concerns the majority of tests on cosmetic products, aesthetic products or devices
without any medical purpose. The non-interventional researches are qualified as any study
conducted on healthy volunteers, by negligible risk methods of investigation on
products with determined safety-in use under normal conditions of use or according to
methods reproducing these conditions.
In this study, every tested product (and associated or support product(s), if any) meets the legal
and safe current requirements. The prerequisite about safety has been validated by qualified
people. The purposes of this study consist only in objectifying and documenting the efficacy of
this (these) product(s) made to act only into the superficial layers of healthy skins.
According to this law N 2004-806, non interventional protocols do not have to be submitted to
an Independent Ethical Committee (Comit de Protection des Personnes) neither to the French
Heath Authority (ANSM).
A prior agreement between the Investigator and the Study Sponsor covered by this contract is
required for any publication or communication directly concerning the two parties. Both parties
take the commitment to inform each other if such an event should occur.
