6. TENNESSEE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FACILITY USE POLICIES Building Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Proper identification of all employees and any visitor may be requested at any time. a, If the facility is closed during an emergency, access may be denied for the duration of the emergency. b, Employees or other persons may be required to sign a registration sheet to gain access to a facility. Visitors shall not obstruct entrances or block traffic flow through a facility. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed from the property at the owners’ expense. a. Unless approved in advance, no events or individuals shall block, impeded or obstruct the flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic in or around the facility of parking areas serving a facility b. Vehicles blocking, impeding or obstructing traffic may be removed. Power-driven mobility device, except as may be required for ADA accommodations, and bicycles are prohibited in the conditioned spaces inside the facilities, Except as may be required in the course of the General Assembly’s business, animals are prohibited inside the facilities. a. Service animals, however, may be used when necessary to assist disabled persons. b. The owner or person bringing the animal into the facility shall be responsible for the animal, Picketing and the distribution of literature outside facilities shall not impede or interfere with the General Assembly's business or public access to and use of such facilities, Hand-carried signs and signs on hand sticks represent a serious safety hazard to visitors and tenants. They are not allowed inside the facilities. Posting and affixing signs, announcements, other documents, objects to any exterior or interior wall, ceiling, floor, door, window, or the placing furniture in any public areas or shared space in a facility is prohibited without an approved request through the Speaker's Office. a. Stickers, labels, tape, or any other adhesive material that might leave a residue or otherwise damage interior or exterior surfaces of the facilities, including but not ited to walls, workstations, porches, stairs, statuary, monuments, light wells, fences or trees, is prohibited, b. Likewise, tacks, nails, staples or other attachments may not be used. 10, Moving a facility's furnishings and/or reconfiguring of furnishings, such as office furniture, workstation panels, lighting and paintings is not permitted without an approved request through the Speaker’s Office. 11, Shared spaces, such as enclaves, conference rooms, break rooms, closets, storage rooms or copy rooms, may not be repurposed for other uses (offices or storage) without an approved request through the Speaker's Office, 12, Adding furnishings, such as office furniture, workstations, file cabinets, and shelving, is not permitted without an approved request through the Speaker's Office. 13. Finishes, paint, carpet and other fixtures may not be altered without an approved request through the Speaker's Office. 14, No objects shall sit on top of any workstation panel, nor extend past the top or beyond the sides of any workstation panel. 15. All maintenance and warranty issues with break room appliances should be submitted as a work order through the Facilities Management Office. a. Any additional appliance needs require an approved request through the Speaker's Office. b. Ifapproved, additional appliances must match the new standard model specifications. 16, Only standard office equipment and other electrical devices installed by or approved via requests through the Speaker’s Office may be plugged into electrical outlets including microwaves, reftigerators or other devices. 17, Tenants shall cooperate fully with the General Assembly's instruetions to ensure the effective operation of the facility’s air-conditioning and heating systems. 18, Tenants agree that their use of electrical current shall never exceed the capacity of existing feeders, risers or wiring installation. 19, Tenants shall not cause or permit any gases, liquids or odors to permeate from their workstation or office and no flammable, combustible or explosive fluid, chemic substances or item (including, without limitation natural Holiday trees) shall be brought to the facilities. 20. Tenants need an approved request through the Speaker’s Office before any pictures are displayed in common areas. 21. Tenants shall not place coffee grounds, food particles or other obstructive materials into bathroom and/or kitchen sinks, 22. At no time shall anything be hung from the ceiling. 23, Requests for additional locks and keys require an approved request through the Legislative Administration. 24, Stepping or climbing upon statues, monuments, fences, lighting fixtures, light wells, trees, o parts of the building not intended for such purposes is prohibited, 25, Pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated 39-14-414, camping of any type is pro! all grounds of the Cordell Hull Building ited on 26. Defacing or damaging facilities or any portion thereof, including but not limited to, walls, workstations, porches, stairs, statuary, monuments, light wells, fences or trees is, prohibited. 27. Individuals who, or organizations whose, members engage in any vandalism, damage, breakage or other destruction to facilities may be immediately removed from the facilities. Cost may be assessed to individuals or organizations for the costs of all repairs of such vandalism, damage, breakage or destruction. 28. No visitor parking is permitted in the staff or member parking garages. Immediate family members may be allowed to park in the member or staff assigned parking space. 29. The number of persons allowed in the building may be limited to comply with fire codes or safety standards. 30.
