Anti-Theft Immobilizer
General information

Rabbit and GTI from model year 2006 are quipped with
Anti-theft Immobilizer IV.

Changes from previous system:

„ If immobilizer is active, it emits and audible signal

and the immobilizer indicator lamp illuminates in the
instrument cluster.

„ It is no longer possible to adapt non-original

Volkswagen components (aftermarket) that may be
installed.

„ Vehicle keys are pre-programmed with a basic

coding by the manufacturer. This basic coding
contains a specific manufacturer code. The
adaptation of keys to a vehicle is only still possible
when the correct manufacturer code is programmed.
