We’ve been a part of Latino Victory since the very

beginning, and we can safely say that this has been a

year of change like one we’ve never seen before.

After the election of 2016, like you, we were

devastated. But, like you, we got back to work. Before
Donald Trump even took office, we announced that the
core mission of Latino Victory was changing: rather
than supporting all Latino candidates, we are now
backing only progressive Latino candidates. We are
no longer negotiating with the white nationalists and
racists that Donald Trump brought to DC with him.

And what a year it’s been.

We made history: From electing the first Latinas to

the Virginia House of Delegates, to endorsing the first
openly gay Latino candidate in Nevada, to helping elect
the very first Latina Democrat to the Florida Senate
and the first Member of Congress in the Trump era, we
made history from coast to coast, up and down the
ballot.
We expanded our focus: We opened our first Latino
Victory state chapter in Georgia, sent staff on the
ground in Florida and Virginia, and made calls into
Massachusetts.

We recruited candidates: The day after we marched

in the Women’s March, we hosted a cafecito with
EMILY’s List here at our office to help Latinas run for
office. One of those women, Elizabeth Guzman, is now
the first Latina to be elected to the Virginia House of
Delegates.

We fought back: When Virginia Republicans decided

to attempt to win their elections by demonizing
Latinos, we didn’t lie down and take it. We pushed
back hard: releasing an explosive ad that exposed the
real fears felt by our community. And it worked -- our
Virginia slate was a clean sweep and Ralph Northam
won by a huge margin.

2017 has been a huge year for us (and not just

because we both became parents this year). It’s been
a year of ups and downs, of making history, and of
getting ready for next year -- and the fights to come.

It was all possible because of you, familia.

So we’re asking one last time this year -- will you

continue supporting our work so we can keep
making history and winning elections in 2018?
