Interpretation for Standard Multiple Regression

A Standard Multiple Regression was calculated to predict the mathematics achievement of girls based on Family related variables and attitudes of girls and their parents in mathematical

activities at home as daily basis. A significant regression equation was found (F (2, 132) = 3.64, p< 0.029) with an R2 of 0.052. Participants predicted Mathematics Achievement is equal to

25.39 + 0.043 (PGV) + 0.478 (FRV), where PGV coded as Parents and girls attitudes related variables toward their daily mathematical activities at home and FRV coded as family related

variables. The girls’ achievement in mathematics increased 0.48 unit of family related variables and parents attitudes notably important than girls students. Both family related variables and

parent and girls attitudes were significant predictors of mathematics achievement of girls.

Interpretation for Correlation: Fedu and MSCORE (Pearson Correlation)

The relationship between girls’ achievement in mathematics and their fathers’ level of education attainment was calculated using Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. Preliminary

analysis were performed to ensure no violation of the assumptions of normality, linearity and homoscedasticity. There was positive correlation between the two variables r = 0.418, n = 135, p

< .001, with moderate levels of educational attainment associated with moderate levels of achievement in mathematics.
