Projects Guided (UG Level)

 Voltage Security Analysis

Description: Objective is to check the severity of the contingency such as single-line
outage with respect to voltages at various buses in the power system. A MATLAB code
was written for the calculation of YBUS matrix. Then voltages at various buses are found
out before and after contingency by writing a MATLAB code for Fast Decoupled Load
Flow iterative method.

 Optimal location of STAT-COM in long transmission line

Description: FACTS devices are very effective and capable of increasing the power
transfer capability of a long transmission line, if thermal limit permits, while maintaining
the same degree of stability. This project work deals with the location of STAT-COM to
improve stability in a long transmission line with predefined direction of real power flow.
It has been observed that the shunt FACTS controller when sited slightly off-centered
towards sending end, give better performance in improving stability. A MATLAB
program was written to find out the optimal location of the STAT-COM for proper
utilization of the available transmission capacity of the long transmission line.

Seminars Guided (UG Level)

 Wireless Transmission of Electricity

 kVAh Energy Meter
 FACTS Controllers for Stability Improvement
 Optimal Location of STAT-COM for Power System Stability Improvement
