1. Gen er a L-This Instruction gives general in- 3. M aster clocks.-Table 2 gives details of the
formation relating to the electrical docks u sed by the size, appearance and use of the va rious ty pes 0,vailable.

2. EJectrical clocks arc listed in the !{ate l3ook as
Clocks No .... and are given C\ 'en numbers. Electrical
clocks can be classified roughly as folJmvs:-
(a) Dial clocks, i.e. those used for ti me-keeping
(b) Master or controlling clocks
(c) Timing devices, i.e. those used for recording
intervals of time.
Table 1 gives details of the size, appearance and use
of the various electrical dial clocks available.
4. Timing devices.-Table 3 gives details of the
types at present available.
5. R ecording clocks.-Certain types of clocks,
such as watchman's tell-tale clocks and electrical time
recorders, give printed OT inked records of the time at
\vhich vmious operatimis are p erformed. I nst:ructions
relating to these will be found in section D of this sub-
division.
