City Hall Surveys You!

Every 3 years or so, City Hall surveys the community.
Ipsos Reid is contracted to ask 400 citizens a series
of questions by phone. These phone interviews
were conducted between late September and early
October 2009. Here is part of the findings summary:

is for a change to Grade 7 to 9, with Grades 10, 11 and
12 joining classes at Norkam. This proposed change will
be subject to consultation with parents and the general

Lecture Tour with A Difference
On New Year’s Eve, Daniel was in no shape to drive,
so he sensibly left his van in the car park and walked
home. As he was wobbling along, he was stopped
by a policeman. ‘What are you doing out here at
four o’clock in the morning?’ asked the police officer.
‘I’m on my way to a lecture,’ answered Roger.
‘And who on earth, in their right mind, is going
to give a lecture at this time on New Year’s Eve?’
enquired the constable sarcastically.
‘My wife,’ slurred Daniel grimly.
Politician in Action

ublishing the Lower Sahali Bulletin has
not been easy, but it has absolutely
been fun and rewarding. I have loved
every minute and I have fretted about
every aspect. My humble hope is that it has
been of some value to my neighbours and
friends. With my crazy life, I have missed
deadlines and I have not always been able to
fill every issue. The web site and the online
neighbourhood forum need more care and
attention.
Since day one, the support for this
publication has been amazing. There
has been such positive feedback from
neighbourhood residents. The sponsors have
been amazing. My wife and I are still happily
married :)!
In 2010, look for the Lower Sahali
Bulletin to build on strengths and address
weaknesses. We’ve featured some important
and interesting people, issues, and amenities.
Now, with some careful and comprehensive
planning, my initial goals are to stick to a
regular publication schedule and to
offer relevant, interesting, and well
written articles.
Also, look for information on
neighbourhood get togethers in 2010.
We had a great get together in August.
I dropped the ball on a subsequent
event I had scheduled and I apologize
to those who showed up. Let’s work on
a tentative schedule of monthly events
for the first six months of the new year.
